That uncannily resembles one of the Angels from Neon Genesis Evangelion!
It probalby does, personally I think it looks like some kind of pimped up Pokémon.
Evangelion or rather anime mecha series in general serves as inspiration and design guides for this project, mixed up with popular western titles.
