Shortly after the citadel exploded, Gordon's train was teleported to a beach in which was farther away from white forest than he anticipated. He makes his way through the coastline, caves, and outlands to destroy a combine weapon capable of destroying the rocket in white forest.

Do these look better? Any thing to improve? Less smoke, more alpha. Not too obstructing for the player. Seems Ace to me.
Looks excellent, but there are just a tad too many sparks in my opinion :l

Good work, I'm sure this will make it more bareable for people with less power machines, this way you're not only advertising for them. :) And usually when there is an explosion, the sparks are unnoticed, but if you wanna put your own spin on explosions, there's nothing wrong with that :P
Too sparky, unless it's firework, the particle effects however are really, really professional!
I thin that's perfect and one of the best effect I've ever seen so far! Amazing :P
for a grenade-explosion it would be ok!
KEEP THE ******* SPARKS. (maybe some small colliding rock chunks too?)
