This WarCraft III Total Conversion was originally partially made for StarCraft: Broodwar from roughly January 2001-December 2003, but due to frustration with the limits of SC and the unlimited promise of WarCraft III, we shifted over at the beginning of this year. For those of you not familiar with this mod or the Robotech anime series, here is a brief explanation:

Robotech is an Americanized Sci-Fi anime series that aired on American Television in 1985, and its success is partially responsible for the massive wave of anime that we now have today. The series is a combination of 3 separate anime series dubbed into one, leading to a massive 85 episode television series detailing a multi-generational struggle between Earth and various alien races as they attempted to conquer the planet for a long-lost energy source that had crashed down to Earth in the year 1999. The series was epic in both length and scale, and despite its age and dubious origins, it still holds up well today.

Our Total Conversion seeks to "fill in the holes" in the Robotech storyline primarily caused by the fusion of three anime series that had nothing to do with each other. For Robotech fans, we are basically creating a mod based on our interpretation of the barely-begun-but-never-finished Sentinels storyline, which takes place between the first and second chapters of the series. Here is an overview of the three races:

Robotech Expeditionary Force (REF)/Humans:

The world turned upside down in 1999 when an alien battlefortress plumetted down to Earth. Examing the remains, scientists determined a complex new technology called "Robotech", enabling the creation of more powerful weapons and technology. The first creation of this science was a new brand of fighters called "Veritech Valkyries", a convertible aircraft that could transform between a fighter jet and a manueverible robot battloid. Using these new weapons and salvaging the alien battlefortress, the humans managed to fight off an invasion by the alien Zentraedi forces, who had come to reclaim their lost ship. The Earth forces have been through many trials and adversities, including the near-destruction of their own home planet. But now the REF seeks to roam the stars, searching for the homeworld of the Robotech Masters...to find those who had sent the Zentraedi and eliminate them before they could attack Earth again...

The REF relies on their unpredictability, speed, and versatility. Their craft are capable of dealing wtih may different situations, and their air force rules the skies.

The Robotech Masters/Undead:

A mysterious alien society founded on the principles of perfect stability and absolute power, based on the concept of "three acting as one." This society was inadvertainly formed when a Tiresian scientist Zor stole a sample of the Flowers of Life from the insectoid Invid, used to form the energy source Protoculture, which they used to conquer all those around them and estabilsh a mighty empire. Disgusted with the misuse of his work, Zor established a mighty battleship in secret housing the only known production facility of Protoculture, which he then prepared to launch to spread his invention across the galaxy...

The Robotech Masters are a fused race, half Robotech Masters clone warriors and half Zentraedi forces. Their forces are generally the most power, with a wide variety of tricks at their command. Not the fastest or the most adaptable, but they get the job done.

Invid (Night Elves):

An insectoid race of alien beings striving to perfect the "ultimate evolution" for the survivablility of their species. Their homeworld mutated beyond recognition by the Robotech Masters and their primary food and energy source, (the Flowers of Life) now stolen, the Invid now live only for revenge. They are led in an insect-like society by their Spiritual leader and mother (the Regis) and their warrior King the Regent.

The Invid rely on sheer numbers to overwhelm the enemy, as they are quite weak on their own.

Our TC will have new models and sounds for every race, as well as one campaign for each race with a planned 15 missions each. At the time of this writing, the gameplay is nearly finished, pending occasional balance checks and bug fixes. The sounds for the most part are nearly complete, pending the release of the final DVD set of Robotech Remastered by ADV Films. We have a few models done, but we need skinners to create the skins for them, as well as more modelers to help us with the load.

As of this current version (Alpha 3), our mod is completely multiplayer combatible with the 3 primary races. We could greatly use some user-created multiplayer maps as well, created to the specifications listed in the readme on the site.

PLEASE CONTACT EITHER MYSELF OR THE TEAM ON OUR FORUMS FOR FEEDBACK.

THIS MOD IS BOTH PC AND MACINTOSH COMPATIBLE AND REQUIRES A LEGAL VERSION OF WARCRAFT III: FROZEN THRONE AND THE 1.17 PATCH.

Alright, folks...it's been a long wait, but the latest version of the mod is now up on our website, and is currently awaiting approval on this site. This version contains many gameplay changes, including a few experimental ones like the addition of a second Legios combination. We have also reworked the background music, using music from the new Robotech 20th Anniversary Collection Soundtrack just recently released (available now on Robotech.com). For a more detailed list of changes, please see the readme enclosed with the mod download. And no...there are still no new models, as much as I'd love to have them. We've just had absolutely no luck importing our current models into the game, and trying to find new modelers/skinners to help us out for no reward aside from the experience itself. In other words, if you're just dying to complain about the lack of graphical changes from WarCraft III: FT standard...don't. We already agree with you. If you know anyone who can and will help us in this endevour, though, please let us know.

Have fun with the new version!

*See the recent news post*

We just released Robotech: Enemy Frontier Alpha5 tonight, which is currently available on our site and is awaiting review on this one. Before you ask, no...there are no new graphical changes. We don't have the help and experience we need to make that a reality, so until we get such help there will likely be little progress on that front. Enjoy the new version!

On the contrary: this next official's going to be a DRASTIC redesign of the three races, mostly the tech trees of the Invid and Masters. We're also taking a few abilities out (the Beta's Reflex Warheads), implementing new AIs, and possibily implementing a dual-Legios system (two different Legios combinations). Release date to be determined.
