Description

One of the motivations for starting this mod was to correct many of the historical inaccuracies of the late Rise of Napoleon mod, especially in its depiction of non-Western armies. Thus in this mod, can see that we have removed quite a number of units from the original Rise of Napoleon - and replaced it with many new one.

Like Iran, the army of China in Ultima Ratio is based on the middle Qing army, based heavily around archaic cavalry using mediaeval weaponry, but supported by a variety of gunpowder weapon systems. The Qing army is somewhat more advanced than Iran, being able to field a good mix of warships, melee infantry, gunpowder infantry, and cavalry alike as well as more variety in siege weapons but tends towards being somewhat heavier. Like Iran, the biggest flaw in the Chinese army is its lack of advanced gunpowder infantry or naval units, meaning that in scenarios such as this one it can be at a massive disadvantage if facing factions such as Turkey or Britain who are known to field powerful heavy-hitting warships.
