Hello everyone,
Another week has passed and work on the mod is still going strong, if at a slower pace. I'm spending more time on these maps now to improve their quality, so my initial estimate for the release date might be moved back, however, I still believe there is hope for a mid-August release, if not early August.
Anyway, map 07_Mainhall was completed just a couple days after last update and progress on the next map has begun.
Since I'm aiming to make the player's path from the Mainhall onwards their own choice, the maps joined on from now on are going to be named 07_01 and so on, rather than making you all believe it has to be done in a specific order. (Well that still gives it a number order doesn't it?) The majority of doors leading to other maps from the Mainhall will be unlocked or unblocked naturally, leaving the player to choose which one they do first. However, there will still be a couple doors which will require the player to find a key or to find an "alternate" route into it. I've also decided that to keep some mystery as to the types of maps in the mod, I will no longer announce the names of the map, only their number. Don't worry, I'll still include photo updates.
That brings me to the next part for this update. Map 07_01, which was originally named map 08, is more than halfway completed. It is a smaller map compared to some of the previous maps and is heavily influenced and inspired by a certain map in part 1 of the Amnesia main story. (There's your hint for it's name :P) I'm hoping to get it done by next update, and have done some serious work on map 07_02.
