Hello all,

After the playtest today it was found that the amount of bugs/issues to fix was very small, so small in fact that I could complete them in 10 minutes. So I decided, why not? I'll upload the FULL RELEASE of the mod today! Yay! So now you can enjoy the Horror that is 145 in its entirety!

I look forward to seeing all of your reviews and ratings on ModDB as this is my FIRST full custom story for Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so I am still very much in the learning stage. Any constructive criticism is welcome as it can help me to make my next custom story (when I finally want to re-open the HPL Editor after this) that much better for you all.

I'm playing the 1.01 version atm. While the map design is beautiful, there is a problem with big maps: too little oil.

I'm clueless for where to go. There are many rooms and not all of them have something that will help. This means one thing: wandering around and doing so with little oil is a disaster.

well i've finished the original 1.0 version at last. it took me a week almost (well i've played other mods and edited mine also), but finally i've managed to get to the agreement ending. my feelings about the mod are quite mixed, here you go:

- Realistic mapping, not all rooms have a purpose, it gives the feel that you're not in a game, you're not get an item that you're looking for in every room.
- Darkness, atmosphere.
- There were just enough resources.
- You used only TDD elements, and you could make a unique and interesting story. This is the most important point
- The story and the gameplay was interesting, many puzzles to solve

- The mentioned puzzles were so damn difficult sometimes. I had to look for a video that shows me the sewer combination. Also i had to search for the damned chipper in the editor.
- Too big maps. Also in some places, they were even empty. If you missed an item and you don't know where to look it could take hours to find it.
- Not really scary. I didn't really remember any moments when i was scared, but i remember some good monster encounters, mostly in the sewers.
- I would have been glad to see some custom models made by you or other players or some assets from AMFP. Still this was your choice.

It seems that the positives and negatives are equal, but they're not. You've put a huge effort into this custom story, you've made something unique even if it was so annoying and difficult sometimes. Next time (i really hope you'll create another project) it would be better to make a bit easier puzzles, use custom stuff, make a bit smaller rooms and scare the **** out of us man! You have potential. For a first custom story, this is quite a good one!

You'll get a 8/10, i've really enjoyed what i've played ^^ I hope i'm not the only one who could finish it :D

For now though I'll give the HPL Editor a couple weeks or months rest before I re-open it, but I already have ideas floating around for another custom story, probably not a continuation of the Rift idea for the time being, unless people really want that.

yeah it always needs time, i also pause working for 1-2 months after each mod :D i'm glad to hear that, it would be good to see how you deal with custom models and AMFP assets, but original game-themed mods are also welcome, do not misunderstand :D it's just always good if a CS shows something new not just in gameplay and story, but in visuals :D

I've seen a couple issues with the boxlights for certain maps, if you have found a boxlight, or any lights, which are incorrectly placed please tell me, I'll bring out an update addressing it soon. I currently know of the faulty boxlights in the Cellar and the Back Passages, thank you all.
