NOTE: This mod is intended to run on the regular, NON BETA version of Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer, if you opt into beta, it may cause problems.
Only Steam and Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer are required to play. Installation: Extract the RE2 folder and move it to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods if you are using a 64 bit OS, and restart Steam if it's already running. Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer will automatically install upon launch if it isn't already installed.

Chapter 1 (Streets)
- Added the clock tower detail to the RPD exterior
Chapter 2 (RPD)
- Various touchups & modifications to the RPD
- RPD main hall side doors now need to be unlocked with the computer using the blue card key. This also makes the evidence room optional and is unlocked from the other side & with Diamond Key for a shortcut. Marvin's inner office door is now unlocked with the Diamond Key.
- Made main hall ladder latch a bit more obvious and moved it up
- Moved evidence room drawer with ammo down and made it more obvious that it's openable
- Moved Unicorn Medal from the STARS Office to it's resting place on the 2nd floor in the front hall. The door leading to the library from the STARS Office hallway is no longer locked.
Chapter 3 (Sewers)
- Changed sewer fan vent shaft orientation
Chapter 4 (Lab)
- Added clip brushes to the boss room's walls to make it less likely for the player or boss to get stuck on something

This is definitely an awesome mod even if its only a demo!
A few small tips for newcomers to the demo mod.
- SHOOT THE HEAD I cannot stress this enough if you shoot at the body your going to waste a lot of ammo, a good strategy is to shoot 4-5 bullets to the head and then slash them with the knife, its easy on here than the original game because you can also jump around
- You can move around more freely than the original game so jump around.
- Unlike the original game zombies CAN walk through doors if you don't shut them behind you so make sure to do that.
- This mod also uses ink ribbons and typewriters to save, try to save at crucial moments if possible
- As this is a demo some parts of the game aren't included (I don't remember who's path this game follows) but just make sure to search everywhere.
i guess it follows the leon A path... would be amazing if it would feature both characters path for you to choose...
still a demo with a huge potential so i expect a lot to come when it will be fully released...

I installed the folder (RE2) into the Sourcemods folder but when I start the game nothing is there just the normal game.
What am I doing wrong ?

This hasn't been updated in awhile. Just checked it out and I must say, I'm very impressed.
There are some things that hopefully should be ironed out. Firstly, many objects get in the way of some halls and corridors. This is mostly seen in the RPD 1st Floor corridor where the S.T.A.R.S meeting room is. You bump into them which stops you completely.
Some of the door textures are incorrect to the game. The all the doors in the RPD hall for example uses the S.T.A.R.S Office door texture from the original game. Ideally, you shouldn't use any of those textures and newer updated ones that are close to the game would "Feel" right. But that's fine.
The RPD Parking lot is inaccessible when it really should be. Claire's section of the Basement is accessible even though there isn't much reason too other than ammo. So this was a tad strange to see that area blocked off.
The knife is too OP for the zombies. In all situations, I found that to be the best option to simply take out the zombies as in HL2. Perhaps include a slower swing?
The biggest problem seems to be with the doors. Many times I got completely stuck on them and you cannot close the door or open it once you're trapped in it. Only way to get out is loading a save or starting over.
Overall, the detail and how faithful to the original game is very well made. More diverse textures to the zombies would be a nice touch though.
I hope this continues seeing how it wasn't updated in over a year.

Where does this demo end now? I am where I should get the fuse case but its not there so I am assuming this is where the game ends?
I got stuck at that part so I am guessing so unless the game is being really picky with where you should click, I know I had a bit of an issue with activating the train.
Yeah what kills me is that in every other version there is a clear "end of demo" so it makes me feel like there is more to do.
Especially since that computer in the save room not only makes noise but says awaiting user input. And then there is tbat button right outside the same room

I liked it very much until I won it, it only needs to fix the pink textures and put real skins like the zombies, William Birkin, zombie dogs and Ada and others that would be missing and make the scenario with Claire.
dude thanks for this man! Ha ha I remember these games from a few years ago, man they didn't age too well, but the details in this one are spot on and I love the little joking references you did in it. And of course the super realistic crows! XD
It sucks, I played this game 2 or 3 years ago, and hit the end of the game. I was really sad, and uninstalled it. Now, I will have to play all the way back if I want to see new stuff.

Great mod. Took me about an hour to play it through. "RE2" is one of my favorite games of all time, so I really enjoyed this. Great work, man! Only complaint I have is about the opponents. I wish they weren't characters from "HL2". Are you still workin' on this? Can somebody help me and tell me how to delete this mod? I need some space on my laptop and I can't delete this through Steam like I usually delete games. Oh yeah, this is Diamond Dog.
