They have long stayed dormant. The Giant Ants have returned and are now wreaking havoc against those who tried to elminate them. Will you help them achieve their revenge or will you be the one to stop them? Colony Wars is a partial Conversion Mod for Red Alert 2 : Yuri's Revenge. The Mod aims to add in the Giant Ants (The Colony) as a fully playable side,A New Set of Campaigns for each side as well as adding new toys for the original three sides. Allies,Soviets & Yuri. Awaken the Swarm!!!
When Yuri was still with the Soviets. He was in charge of many areas as adviser to the Romanov. Among them was the management of gulags and handling of POWs. Many of the people within these facilities were also brought along with Yuri when he defected. Thanks to connections with Slave Traders with his associates. The Syndicate has a near-limitless supply of slaves to do their work. To make use of them Yuri had the Slave Miner constructed for his army. These large lumbering machines function similarly to the Refineries commonly seen at base but has the added advantage of mobility. Their sheer size also allows the Slave Miner to easily crush most vehicles as well.
You are showing a unit we already had in RA2 YR
The unit got a facelift. Its got some balance tweaks for example you can only build up to 5 max and they can crush smaller vehicles. It's unlocked much later on requiring the Tech Center AND the Grinder and its not armed with a gun anymore.
Looking at those prerequisites, I assume Syndicate still uses a normal Refinery but as an alternative can construct Slave Miners?
The Slave Miner is a late-game economy booster similar to say the Nuclear Reactor. They can offer a massive advantage but only if you protect them. And you have to go out of your way to unlock them requiring the Grinder.
Are you working on this alone Jeremiah?
The 3D & Audio Assets I'm having help from other people. But Story,Unit Design and most stuff I'm doing it myself.
maybe you can do a mission in which a faction can "liberate" a syndicate pow facility, thus hampering slave miner production to the limit of 5?
