I am a 27 year old Rebel named Clark Bentruim. I worked in this supply cache. We provided munitions for White Forest Base, well, at least until the Combine came. Thinking back, we were pretty ignorant. We never even thought the Combine would discover us. Well, they did. They flooded the place with headcrab containers, taking advantage of the already large amount of unrest. In the time we spent there, we became nearly brothers. When the headcrabs turned all our comrades to zombies... well, let`s just say it was rather difficult to kill them. It became a civil war for supplies in that base. Men who were once friends turned against each other, shedding blood for only one more ration or a box of shotgun ammunition. It ended though. Eventually, most people died off. I thought it was over once it was just Johnson and I. But it wasn`t. That very night before we planned escape, a headcrab came from the ceiling. It landed on Johnsons head. Killing him was one of the most difficult thi
Here are some new screenshots! A firstlook of the outside world.
Excellent mapping work in the foreground, the displacements have been created realistically and evenly as well as good attention to detail. No to sure about the background though, some of the tree models appear to be colliding with the displacement ans some texture stretching. However on the whole a very good job here :)
well thanks, I might go back and check out the background and move the trees around, and maybe tune the displacements a little, but I am SO tired of displacements, within this week, I've had 3 fatal errors that crashed the map, and they were all displacments, so I had to go and look around for the one that was corrupt delete it remake it and check to see if the error was still there, and I had to do that so much, and it took so much time out, not to mention, then very next part of the last screenshot, the walls are all going to be just like a very very rock canon, that follows a road path, but I'll give it a look.
Displacements are tough to get right - you've done very well so far. Just a couple adjustments to the background and I'd call it good. (That and bump the pine on the right out so its not going through the wall)
well thanks, I moved the tree so it looks a little better, and I took a look at the displacement, and it didn't look so bad or streched as bad as it looks in the picture, the quality of the picture is just not the best.
