Real War is a total conversion for C&C Generals Zero Hour, it's goal is to create gameplay that would feel much more like a real action rather then a clash of toys, staying at the same time competitive game. With realistic units, realistic FX, and realistic tactics we intend to create RTS experience of authenticity level never seen before. The sides include US Army, Armed forces of Russian Federation, and Chinese People's Liberation Army. Each with unique units, buildings and upgrades.

It is not a question of engine. ZH can handle a wide range of definition, the game itself was designed with poor visual quality because not every machine in 2003 was able to run on a better level. Todays rigs shouldn't have much trouble with better models.

Yeah, the graphic quality can be really heightened with the new hardware.
While we had trouble to get the best graphic quality in older games, now it's very usual to play with "High" and "Very High" quality settings in those same "old" games.

Eventually, even our current game's high end graphics will be upgraded with future hardware/software, the history repeats itself ^^ It's the same cycle all over again :D
