Random 17

Short single-player mod trying to capture the feel of HL2 and City 17.

I managed to suppress most of the 'Too many vertex format changes in frame' errors by optimization with heavily deoptimizating (dividing visleafs smaller and smaller, to hide everything not visible), deleting cubemaps and adding areaportals. As long as the player will not fly around or crawl up the walls there should be no red flood on console. Also tweaked some lighting and prop display distance.
Also added three new screens under images.
But it is time for new challenges - something with all custom content.

First release. This mod requires that you have Half-Life 2: Episode Two installed. Not sure weather it needs also Half-Life 2 and Episode One. To install...
why do all good mods have to end so abruptly, just when it becomes really interesting and one really begins to understand the way of playing them? :(((
i think there's somthing wrong with the last full version
i unrar it with winrar and 7zip..both of them extracted good
but there's also a maps/random17 fail
and also when i press new game it just load and crash
hl2 STOPPED WORKING
I tried, at least for me, the current archive here had no errors and content/map loads fine. All I can recommend is try planetphillip.com version.
Very nice mod! Short and sweet.
I got stuck quickly. I'm blocked by a metal fence type door. There is a console of some sort on the left side of it which sparks and gives the "fail" sound when interacted with. I can't figure out what I'm suppose to do as there doesn't seem to be anything else I could so in the are I can access. I tried sliding a grenade from under the door to see if that does anything, but it didn't. Any help?

I thought it was wrong placement of a trigger xD so i use a noclip.
Fuuu! I need to check out this walkthrough... :D
Same here! No idea how to continue.
I know how frustrating this will be, having no clue and being stuck in one area. Sorry. Without posting spoilers, the first hint would be to turn HDR lighting off. Also there are currently two play through videos available in YouTube.
