Raising the Bar is a mod based off of the idea of amalgamating the earliest concepts of Half-Life 2 into a coherent story. This mod is not a leak-fix, nor is it a concept art recreation gallery; it will be a full story with inspiration from the old material as well as our own ideas of how to make it all fit together.

Can't wait to smash some crates with that thing
And heads!
So this isn't going to be shaped like Valve's original E3 crowbar?
We thought we'd switch things up a bit, nothing too major. From a functional standpoint, the larger 'fork' in the top blade of the retail/E3 crowbar would likely not give it nearly as much structural integrity to pry things apart without possibly bending or breaking the teeth, and they could also get hung up on things much more often. Couple that with it also possibly doing much more damage than in retail (still tweaking that), and it fits more to have larger, closer blades.
TL;DR: More realistic crowbar makes a little more sense.
Will the View Model look different from the retail viewmodel? Like the way it's held? I also think that you could maybe add something to the crowbar, like a secondary attack, where Gordon grabs the crowbar with two hands raises it over his head, and smashes it down on his target, maybe causing a metro cop to have a bodygroup changed were his helmet is smashed in and blood is coming from his view ports?
We've been considering adding a charged attack to the crowbar, but we haven't gotten around to testing it yet. This model shown here is also going to be both the viewmodel and the worldmodel; as to the animation, well it's really up for grabs at the moment as we haven't gotten our set of arms completed to use it with.
So until you get the v_arms then you aren't really able to say? Also I think it would add some diversity to the Crowbar from the Ice Pick, the Ice Pick being faster, but doing less damage, but it maybe can be thrown, pinning it's victims to the wall like the crossbow? Or were when it hits it's victim it get's stuck in it and you can either shoot at the pick and make it fall out causing the victim to die, or run up to the enemy and press 'e' if you're feeling that you have the balls to do so.
But back to the point of the crowbar. I really think a charged attack would be interesting, while it would take a bit of time to use, it shouldn't take a lot of time to were it can be suicide to utilize, but maybe the secondary attack uses suit AUX power?
Again, most of this is yet to be tested. But whenever we do get it set up, we'll certainly try as many logical attack types tested on it, as at least some differentiation from the icepick would be very good indeed.
Beautiful...
Only bad thing is it's doesn't look like that in game ☹
Welp, the combine are doomed now. Nobody has ever defeated the crowbar before.
Toy Story 3 didn't have model detail this good.
I like how you guys take your time and make this instead of using same crowbar from HL2. gg
Please do this game. I can't wait to play it! (sorry for my english, I hope you will understand me :D)
Hey! Your English is pretty good! There's nothing to be ashamed of! Just keep working on it! You have potential to be a natural. I can already tell!
