If you have a hack chunk with a sub-model that wasnt cached during worldspawn, it will end up invisible and / or possibly do weird stuff.

All sub-models _must_ load during worldspawn! You can load a hack chunk with a copy of the sub-model as many times as you desire. As long as it was loaded during worldspawn. My solution - load one of every hack on the base map
