Quake <-- Nethack. Yes, it is that simple.
My fascination with mapping began with roleplaying games in the 70s. Putting pure imagination on paper is not always easy. Or even possible.
When I started working with doomed I got frustrated pretty quick. 2.5D is easier and harder to work with than true 3D.
Quake mapping is more my style. By the time I was learning Q3 mapping with radiant: Moddb.com
But. The engine only has _one_ ground plane. I used a teleport trick in that map to simulate 3 ground planes.
I may have a way around that in singleplayer now! Once I solve some other issue I'm going to try it.
And I need to model the "escherpede".
