[ENG] Installation:
Please note: Mod size after unpacking ~ 28GB.
Old saves of the regular version may not work, so it is better to start a new game.
- 1) Download 7z archive
- 2) Extract folder
4X_AI_Textures
- into the root folder
Quake 4
- , e. g.:
C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake 4
- 2.1) After unpacking the main archive, in the same way unpack the update archives one by one, confirming the replacement of the files.
- 3) Start the game so that the
Quake4Config.cfg
- file is created in the
mod folder
- 4) In the game settings, set the maximum graphics quality (the "Super high quality" preset + in the additional menu).
- 5) Close the game. Open the
Quake4Config.cfg
- file with any text editor and use CTRL+F to find the lines:
- seta image_ignoreHighQuality "1"
- seta image_downSizeBump "1"
- seta image_downSizeSpecular "1"
- seta image_downSize "1"
- seta gui_mediumFontLimit "0.60"
- seta gui_smallFontLimit "0.30"
- replace their values with "0"
- (This is to prevent the appearance of low-res textures, which can be displayed like this, regardless of the settings)
- 6) Done! After starting the game, the mod will be available in the MODS menu.
- 7) Rate and add to favorites this guide :)
Quick launch of this mod
To run the mod directly, and not through the game menu, in the launch parameters write +set fs_game 4X_AI_Textures in the launch parameters. To skip the intro videos, write +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +set fs_game 4X_AI_Textures or +disconnect +set fs_game 4X_AI_Textures in the launch parameters.

Обратите внимание: Размер мода после распаковки ~28Гб.
Старые сохранения обычной версии могут не работать, поэтому лучше начинать новую игру.
1) Скачайте 7z архив
2) Извлеките папку 4X_AI_Texures в корневую папку Quake 4, например:
C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake 4
2.1) После распаковки основного архива, таким же образом распакуйте поочередно архивы обновлений, с подтверждением замены файлов.
3) Запустите игру, чтобы в папке мода создался файл Quake4Config.cfg
4) В настройках игры выставьте максимальное качество графики (предустановка "Сверхвысокое качество" + в дополнительном меню).
5) Закройте игру. Откройте файл Quake4Config.cfg любым текстовым редактором и с помощью CTRL+F найдите строчки:

seta image_downSizeSpecular "1"
seta image_downSize "1"
seta gui_mediumFontLimit "0.60"

замените их значения на "0"
(Это нужно для предотвращения появления текстур в пониженном разрешении, которые могут отображаться так, независимо от настроек)
6) После запуска игры мод будет доступен в меню МОДЫ.
7) Оцените и добавьте в избранное это руководство :)

For all those suffering from the Problem of getting Low-Res Textures instead of 4K High-Res, here's what worked for me:
1. Make an 'autoexec.cfg' File using Notepad OR Notepad++ (Notepad++ recommended for everyone) in '4X_AI_Textures' Folder.
NOTE:: Don't Bother Editing the 'Quake4Config.cfg'. It will be overwritten once you LAUNCH the Game every-fin-time.
2. COPY the Following lines to 'autoexec.cfg' :
// don't worry about Lines like these, they are COMMENTS. They are only for giving Information to any Humans Reading the Code & are Ignored by Game Engine.
// COPY them also.

3. COPY these Lines and SET their values according to your Optimal Graphic Performance :

seta r_multiSamples "16" // Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing; values can be -- "0", "1", "2", "4", "8" or "16", "16" being the MAX
4. COPY & SET these according to your preferred Resolution & Refresh Rate :
seta r_aspectRatio "1" // set values according to specified screen display -- "0" for 4:3; "1" for 16:9, "3" for 16:10.
seta r_mode "-1" // leave this at "-1", which allows custom screen resolution.
seta r_customWidth "1920" // type in your screen width, matching the one your Windows desktop is SET to.
seta r_customHeight "1080" // type in your screen height, matching the one your Windows desktop is SET to.
seta r_displayRefresh "120" // type in your monitor display refresh rate in Hz
5. SAVE 'autoexec.cfg' and LAUNCH the MOD.

I have an issue where when I load the mod and start a new game it asks for a CD key. The base game works fine on Steam but the mod asks for a CD key.
Block the 'Quake4.exe' in Windows Firewall ---> Advanced Settings ---> Inbound Rules.
If you don't know How to Block any 'Application' / '.exe', feel free to Google it. It just works the same way you would Block any other application.
