Q4Run
Quake 4 mod | Released Dec 2, 2007
Q4Run is a modification for Quake4. Primarily it's based on trickjumping and combining tricks. The first idea behind this mod was to implement timers which makes it possible to finish a specific "run" map in a certain time and then improve it afterwards. Every run will be documented in a demo named after name of player and map and time. If you want you can share those demos with other players so they can watch your skill or can help you to improve it. Comparing to other times you can try to beat them or be proud of yourself because of better records.
In general Q4Run provides these features:
* 8 different gametypes (Run, Teamrun, CTF run, Fastcaps, Fastcaps pro, Unlimited CTF run, Freestyle, Team freestyle)
* 3 timer entities (Starttimer, Checkpoint, Endtimer) for the gametype Run and Team run
* UPS-Meter/Speedmeter
* Angle Meter
* Auto demo recording
* Configurable hud and stats display
* Modified menu (Blue)
* Battlesuit

added:
- opening the scoreboard hides the run result window
fixed:
- pickup sound of battlesuit isn't hearable in all instances anymore
changed:
- increased the width for the names in the demo list menu
- removed some console text spaming
- disabled grenade launcher for CTF runs
- client net demos start delayed
We would appreciate any help in betatesting and giving us new ideas.
Furthermore we would be glad if someone could create some new maps.

Can this be played multiplayer with other friends, instead of just sharing demos?
Of course there is a mutliplayer feature available. I mean... it is Quake :D But other than Defrag's multiplayer you won't see your friends but you can still chat with them and spectate them. It's for fps purposes.
looks so promisingly fun!! that i actually just bought Quake 4 just for this xD, fantastic piece of work this is.
(Actually i think the most persuading thing was the music xD haha)
