Project Remaster V14 Beta13 (current) file

This is a full release, your old Project Remaster v1.3 will get removed from your computer before v14beta13 gets installed, you will get warned when that happens.

Download via -> google-drive <- in case the download errors out, its a big file.

So we managed to add a new Weapon-slot into the customizes-screen, and while we were at it, we made that screen HD too AND integrated a widescreen-fix for all windows in the game:

So each class (also depending on faction) has a 4th weapon to its disposal.

• 4th primary rifle unlock selectable from customize screen, therefore:
• PAC Support got Shuko LMG added back
• EU Support lost it's EU_Shotgun and received the Remington-Vega shotgun
• EU and PAC Assault got BAUR added back
• EU and PAC Anti-Vehicle got a 4 barrel magnetic grenade launcher ''Bloxa''
• EU Recon got the Akila semi-automatic sniper and Lambert Carbine
• PAC Recon got the Akila semi-automatic sniper and Vostok Carbine

Also there is a 4th squad-leader unlock, the timebomb. It does massive damage (2000) and runs on a 20 second timer, but can also be shot at for an immediate explosion. Anti-vehicle class can disarm it.

So we have all "old" vanilla weapons and the new weapons in the game now.
The future holds maybe a 5th weapon or more gadgets? Who knows, its work!

With version 14 you will find three new folders in your games' mods-folder.

1. Project_Remaster_v14 (the main mod you know)
2. Project_Remaster_v14_offline (This one is for the folks that cannot run BF2142Unlocker, also known as the "offline singleplayer" with offline fix)
3. Project_Remaster_v14_vanilla_weapons (This one is like the main mod, but hat 4th weapons removed and all weapons have vanilla stats, for the folks who like just an HD remaster of BF2142)

_offline and _vanilla_weapons are minimods, because they get their resources like textures and sounds etc. from the main mod. This saves us about 62% of disk-space in comparison to release the mod in three additional parts. Vanilla_weapons and _offline are each only 300mb in size.
Since these are individual mods each of them can run as its own server. So creating a gameserver with just vanilla_weapons is possible now, any every player has this mod by default on their computer.
Also, you can create a minmod for yourself in reference Project_Remaster_v14. A template mod for this purpose is included in the /mods/Project_Remaster_v14/Tools/Minimod/ folder.

We included BF2142Unlocker as a part of the Remaster Mod.
The latest version of BF2142Unlocker (0.9.7 in 32- and 64-bit) is included in this release.
It is preconfigured after the installation and ready to use with the Remaster Mod.

What does it do? Well it is THE tool for BF2142:

• It emulates a Master-Server on your computer with just a click.
  
  • You now don't need an offline-fix for BF2142 anymore!
  • You get a functional customize-screen!
  • You get all unlocks (no matter the gamemode).
  • You get awards like the battle pins and and patches (5 kills in a row, revived 3 soldiers etc. this gave you career points back in the day).
    
    • These pins and awards are only for show, nothing gets saved or unlocks anything, just cosmetic and cool.
• You can play LAN again with your friends, who just start BF2142Unlocker and type in the hosts IP-Address and get ingame with their own soldier-name.
• You can host dedicated game-servers with all options and maps from which ever mod you chose.
• Works with all mods.
• Control each and every setting that BF2142 has: resolution, graphics details etc.
• Has multiplayer-patches like OpenSpy, NOVGAMES and PlayBF2142 already included.
  
  • No additional tools or patches needed
    
    • No need for bfHub or Novgames patches anymore
  • Can create accounts on Openspy, NOVGAMES and PlayBF2142
  • ServerBrowser before you even start the game
  • Join any server immediately by just clicking it in the browser, no detour in 2142 menus
  • Account gets saved in the tool for fast login in

BF2142Unlocker enables us to play Battlefield with all its features like before the gamespy shutdown. But this time while being offline and for a LAN (with unlocks!) or for multiplayer.

We created a PDF manual for the mod with all in's and out's, FAQ, how to setup the base game and the mod etc. but we found a PDF is too limited in its format.

So we created a Wiki full of content about the mod, helps, FAQ, and technical stuff and included it as an offline viewable version into the mod. (Runs on an one-clock micro-apache webserver for offline viewing).
You can start the Wiki by opening Remaster-Launcher and hitting the "Manual" button on the bottom center of the tool.
A black windows will pop up and inform you that the offline-webserver has started, your web-browser will open the Wiki shortly after. Typing any key in the black window will close the webserver, clicking the X and closing the window will do the same.

Shortly after the release of v1.3 we made the 4GB patch a thing.
This is now a fundamental part of the mod, we ship a crafted bf2142_4gb.exe which enables the game to use 4GB of memory, before it only used 2GB, which resulted in crashes when the game rotates the maps after a win/loose.
Sidenote: BF2142Unlocker will also make sure your game will run with 4GB patch, independent of the mod that is installed. This is also true for the _offline minimod, which does use its own BF2142_offline_4gb.exe .

So far we got no crashes with v14 so far.

120Hz+ is also an (already enabled) option in Remaster-Launcher now, so play on your 120/144 monitors!

The Remaster-Launcher had a big makeover and now will assist in many of the mods and the base games features and troubles.

From features like:

• Changing resolution
• Changing game language
• enable/disable features like 120hz+, widescreen fix, blood-patch
• change number of bots and their skill
• starting the game in windowed or fullscreen mode, with or without mod, with vanilla_weapons, or just create a shortcut with said settings (no fiddling with the shortcut properties anymore)
• starting BF2142Unlocker or create a shortcut for it

It will also help you in debugging issues with the mod or the game:

• reset games cache
• reset game settings
• restore offline singleplayer profiles
• restore BF2142Unlocker
• help in setting a game resolution (for the folks with 120+ monitors)
• create a big debug-log with much information that you can post in our discord for faster help

There is much more that we will discuss in the full release of the mod after the beta stage.

Performance & Tweaks

• Changed body stay time from 55s to 10s. This tweak will help to improve mod stability and performance. Reviving will be easier as well.
• Bots have an asterisk * in their name to be easier to recognize from real players
• Fixed a script that would crash the game/server if a Bot dies while capturing a CP while being the only one around
• Remaster-Launcher & BF2142Unlocker can apply a 4GB memory patch (LAA patch) to Battlefield 2142. This removes any crashes you would experience at map changes (very much in Multiplayer!) and allows us to put more HD textures and higher poly 3D models in the game (like we did with the vehicles now!) without having any memory crashes.
• Included a HUD-Fix for widescreen UI. No more stretched UI elements in 16:9 resolutions.

Maps

Unlocks

• Stamina Unlocks got removed from the soldier kits, instead we adjusted the soldier stamina itself to contain the buffs. This gave us two unlock slots to use
• Added 4th Unlock for Squad-leader: “Timebomb-Unlock”, explodes after 20 seconds and can be shot to explode immediately. Does 2000 damage
• 80% Spawntime Unlock is bundled to Squad-Beacon now. This gave us an unlock slot to use

Vehicles

• All vehicles have HD textures now!
• PAC walker now has AA missiles in second seat
• Walkers got new walking and stomp sounds
• Gunships have a zoom feature on pilot seat
• New tank-shell explosion effect: more smoke, more boom

UI

• HD Spawn- and customise-screen

• Added orange score notations to: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian
