Welcome to Project Reality: Battlefield 2 (aka PR:BF2), a modification for the retail Battlefield 2 multi-player PC game. Project Reality's aim is to create a more realistic combat environment than standard Battlefield 2, and place a greater emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. Most of the aspects of Battlefield 2 that have the capacity to be modified have been tweaked, or completely overhauled, to reflect their real life counterparts, for increased realism. Ballistics have for example also been audited to reflect those of real weapons, including characteristics such as damage, deviation and bullet drop depending on a weapon systems calibre. Since EA and DICE no longer support Battlefield 2 and is no longer being played online, the Project Reality team made PR:BF2 a standalone game. No longer is a installation of Battlefield 2 required and we have implemented our own online account system for online play.
CH-47D Chinnok transport helicopter, included in the Project Reality v0.9 release.
Woohoo one of my favorit helicopters!
well target practise for Mig-29
(buried)
Slow, but resistant.
Slow? It's one of the fastest helicopters in the world man. In Afghanistan the Apache's can barely keep up with them during escort missions.
Just because it's big doesn't make it slow, huge engines and rotors actually make it more powerful.
Not to mention the Bi-Rotor design.
Another example, the Mi-26 ******* HUGE! Compare it to the CH-47D very, very Big. But one of the powerfulest Helicopter engines of all time.
159 Miles per is not slow! I bet they dont pay $76 mil. for something thats slow...
I was playing as the Canadians one map, there were 2 or 3 chinooks, and a squad dedicated to flying them.. We had some epic extractions, jumps, and hot landing zones.. I love that helicopter, so much cooler than the Black Hawk.
i like! :D
I've been under the wash of one of these things. When they come over you they looking like flying castles, and everything goes flying.
yeah thats true i remember them flying over Dover AFB, loud, fast, and huge :0
it should have some weaponry mg in back and couple mg in sides or rockets
The Devs are working on an M240/GPMG and mounts for helicopter door guns.
They're realistic, but in PR they're quite useless IMO.
Chinooks in afghanistan? pretty useless as they set off any nearby IED's.
Talking real life here
...Chinooks are used heavily in Afghanistan by multiple nations.
it would be nice to have some sort of MG on the back so you can defend youre guys as they get in (assuming they are being followed)
