What Project Legacy features as of now:
- OpenGL dynamic lighting
- 3D floors
- Reflective surfaces
- Rotating polyobjects
- Dynamic skybox
Things that have been implemented and will be implemented (just a small 'to do' sort of list, gonna update this list from time to time):
- A torch that functions as your lightsource throughout the game. The best way I can describe it, is think about the oil lamp in Amnesia. Only in this case, your torch runs out and you have to find a new one. Cacowad from Doomworld made a great beta version of the torch, that we will be using as our basis.
- As of now, the torch does not have a pick up model or sprite, so its blank now. I'm going to put some effort towards modeling a torch using Wings 3D, and hopefully with some help I can get it to work.
- I've also been updating the texture WAD that this mod is going to use.
- The last thing I want to let everyone know is that apart from the torch system, I'm going to focus mainly on getting the first level done. After that, I'm going to start working on the first monsters, and after implementing the level code the beta version of the game is pretty much done. :)
No, Project Legacy isn't dead, so it isn't casted into the black hole of forgotten and abandoned game-mods just yet.
At this moment I'm VERY busy though, and there are all sorts of things that need my attention so updates are going to be slow on Project Legacy for a while.
However, I do plan on making a new preview video. Next week is holiday for me, so I plan on recording and editing a new video that shows off all the new features of the game. There has been alot of changes to the mod since the first video, so I'm eager to show it off.
Like I said, I'm already kinda busy now, so I'm always looking for people who want to help me out with this project. The main things that need work is the DECORATE and ACS scripts. I'm horrible at scripts so I would much prefer it if somebody with Doom modding experience would help me out with this.
