ProcyonHook is a Freelancer enhancement unique to the 24/7 Procyon Dedicated server. Adding features to Freelancer never thought possible, ProcyonHook is unlike anything ever witnessed in the Freelancer community.
Cloaking has been around in Freelancer for a good while, however all implementations used elsewhere rely on chat commands for activation/deactivation of the cloak, and typically feature extremely rough implementations.
The cloaking device featured on the Anubis fighter on Procyon is different however - we've added a new 'Toggle Cloak' control to the game options, enabling players to control the cloak like any standard ship function. In addition, a new HUD element has been added to the game screen displaying the cloak's charge-up progress. Finally, rather than last endlessly until deactivated, the cloaking device gradually drains weapon energy while active until depleted - at which point it deactivates, giving you a visual indicator of how much time you are able to spend cloaked.
