Portal Multiplayer is now under new management, the Project-Beta team has decided to begin working on this mod with Kave and a few of his friends. Currently there is no set release date, but we are aiming before Portal 2 which wont be out for another year. Although Portal 2 will support Multiplayer, it will only support 2 players, we have plans for a few different gamemodes. Gamemodes are: Deathmatch: Everyone against everyone Team Deathmatch: Same as deathmatch but with teams Team play: Supports up to 16 players with their own Portal guns Coop: 2 player, each player can only fire 1 color Portal Mod is currently in early Alpha stages with a basic functioning Portal system, NPCs are functional, and little to no crashing.

Fail. Even mean no corners in the engine. I know the method how to make a complete map of the world in the portal (without shaders)

Maybe you can try the effect of func_reflective_glass? It's essentially a Portal with no skin, and it solid. Combine it with a few teleport triggers and some other stuff and BOOM! Working "portals" :D

If the func_reflective_glass fails you could always go with a high-res cubemap, though then EVERY cubemap would have to be hi-res and I think they can glitch up if it's high enough.
