After a long, bloody war in the Sudan, the governments of the United States and Russia struck an uneasy cease-fire over the fate of Africa and its burgeoning industry. This peace would be short lived, for to the north a new conflict was brewing. Ukraine, a former satellite state of the Soviet Union, sought to gain back the power from which it once reveled in. As the snow fell in a heavy midwinter storm, Ukrainian troops moved towards the border of Belarus. Without warning, Ukrainian troops attacked with a speed and effectiveness not seen since the Blitzkrieg of WWII.

It’s time to provide our weekly update and we’ll begin by welcoming our new developers to the team. This week we had Nello join the team as a modeler, and Kmkz & Melugo as coders. In the month of September ten new developers have joined our ranks, and we still have additional positions to fill.

This week the team is proud to showcase the BMP family of vehicles for Ukraine. We decided to showcase the different camouflage schemes that will be utilized based on the terrain of the maps.

The first vehicle is the Bmp-1.

Bmp-1

The main armament of the BMP1 is unusual, in that it fires the same ammunition as the RPG-7 infantry rocket propelled grenade launcher from a 73mm smoothbore gun.

Next is the Bmp-2 and Bmp-2 Kliver.

Bmp-2 Bmp-2 Kliver

The Bmp-2 is essentially an improved version of the Bmp-1, incorporating a more powerful 300 horsepower engine, a 30mm cannon instead of the 73mm smoothbore cannon and we have updated it to have the Kornet Anti-Tank rocket system.
The Bmp-2 Kliver is a new variant that we will be introducing into PoE:2. The Kliver adds a one-man turret,
with a stabilized 2A72 30-mm gun, a 4 Kornet ATGM launcher, a coaxial 7.62-mm MG and improved fire control system.

Next we would like to showcase a few random in game screenshots of maps that are being developed.

Earlier in the week we were covered in a article written by journalist Peter Sucio. He writes for Newsweek, PC Magazine, and other well known organizations.
The article that he interviewed the team for was posted on the professional gamer Global Gaming League website.
Peter’s story was named It's A Mod, Mod, Mod World and here is a quote of his closing statement:

That level of determination is why games like Point of Existence and Red Orchestra could be the next Counter-Strike or Desert Combat. They’re filling that void that Counter-Strike filled in the late 1990s and today it is getting easier, even if the process now involves whole teams. Still, a successful mod could turn a part-time team into a full-blown studio.

The POE Development team thanks Peter and appreciates the time he took to interview us.

That’s it for the month of September. We hope everyone is looking forward to seeing what we have to show in the month of October!
