Major Release Notes:
Installation Instructions:
The mod requires ALL major CKII DLC packs to properly function. It is designed to run on CKII ver 3.3.0 (XDSW) and I can't offer support for other builds. I do not believe the mod will function almost at all if you are missing certain DLC content, you can try that at your own peril? The model/unit Cosmetic DLC are not required, but the portrait packs ARE required to play the mod.
To Install, place the downloaded Pharaohsandconsuls04K folder into your appropriate My Documents/Paradox Interactive/mod/ folder. Please place the pharaohsandconsuls04K.mod file into this same folder and then Tick the “Pharaohs & Consuls 0.4K Public Alpha” on your CKII Launcher’s Mod list to Play.
Bookmarks:
>1st Bookmark set in 101 AUC (653 BC) is in a state which I feel is playable, while still missing many planned features and balancing.
>Mesopotamia, Egypt, Anatolia, Greece, the Balkans, Arabia & the Levant, Media and parts of Persia are mostly balanced and have historical characters established for the bookmark.
>Major Historical Events have yet to be fully implemented (Historical “Rails” game rule not implemented in this public build).
>The remaining Major & Minor Bookmarks are in different stages of their implementation so feel free to jump around but in some cases very little is balanced or completely implemented past the 300 AUC year mark.
Historical Characters, Societies, & Mercenaries:
>A Huge number of Historical landed characters (and minor courtiers/personalities if you can find them) have been implemented, with many famous dynasties present (only a few have had their proper dynastic COA implemented at this point)
>Basic rework of a handful of Societies has been done (the Sacred Band/Philosophers) which is serving as an initial test, several new ones will be added shortly as well as replacement of the existing vanilla ones.
>Several historical Mercenary companies (and fictional ones I’ve tied to cultural or religious affiliations) have been added (some have Loc and COA’s implemented as well)
>Several Artifacts & Ancient Wonders/Major Constructions have been added (A few Famous Rings & Statues but these are mostly for testing purposes) The Royal Aspadana & the Artemision at Ephesos.
Geographical:
>Hispania, Gaul, West Africa, Germania, Northern Europe, and the Steppes/Western Asia are still WIP in terms of titles/Geography and have a lot of work to be done.
>Northern Europe & Russia may remain empty for performance and due to very sparse historical records available for the time period covered.
>Holding and province balancing for Mainland Greece, Italy, Mesopotamia, and Egypt required, majority of polis and city-states properly located but balancing and play-testing needed.
Graphics & UI:
>Major UI Overhaul partially completed (only Hellenic art implemented so far, unique art for each culture group to come) Some Religion Icons and trait implemented.
Large number of Province and Title Flags implemented, not final but more to come.
>Unit Models are vanilla as I don’t know how to work with the 3d meshes etc.
>Map & Terrain Visuals overhauled thanks to contributions from “In Heaven” (Steam)
>Map Font Overhauled thanks to Kryo’s font mod (Steam)
>Cultural Portraits have been implemented for a huge number of cultures, There are many graphical issues and portrait alignment issues which I need to correct but the general appearance for each ethnic and cultural group is mostly established, with later cultures to be implemented as development progresses.
Events & Balance:
>Very few new events currently added to the public build, more testing and balancing is required before I start adding to the vanilla gameplay loops. Currently a few events and features have been “adapted” to their equivalent in the mod but very little of this has been implemented, so most events, their graphics and their localisation are currently from vanilla CKII.
>Basic Government overhaul has started with only a few models present in this build, a complete overhaul of the current governments and their balance is planned for a future update.
Known Major Issues & Bugs:
-High number of notifications occurring for different rulers depending on culture or religion (and their respective landed vassals) informing them of a religious barony being revoked.
-Random “Western GFX” portraits are generated for certain landless characters and especially Patrician families, this is apparently solved by saving and reloading the save. I can’t seem to solve this bug as it seems to be a hardcoded issue with using custom cultures when the game spawns/calls for patrician families to be spawned or certain random characters. If anyone knows of a work-around or fix please let me know and I’ll do my best to resolve it.
- Plenty of Missing or incomplete Localization especially in regards to Religion Descriptions and events.
Other Notes:
>Please let me know if you encounter any major issues or unlisted bugs.
>The mod is still in an alpha state with many features still to be added as well as historical bookmarks which need to be added, I hope you can enjoy the work done so far, if so, please let me know what you think!
Nice!!
Dude, i don't know if it's just me but i have a problem, i have 3.3.0 version and when i start, i can play only the characters from the first bookmark but not from the last or any other bookmarks, only the first one, can someone help?
Please read the Release Build Notes and this question will be answered for you ;)
Yeah i read that after lol, the mod is beast, i love it, can't wait for new updates.
Glad that you got it working and enjoy it :)
I played briefly (because I had no time), thanks for all the reasearch and effort, the mod looks almost perfect. I have two issues though, I am not playing the mod on a wide screen and city view is covering almost 75% of the screen.
The other issue is with the map mod you chose to implement, some people might like it, but it is hard on the eyes and make it really difficult to separate colors. I would rather have a mod like Theatrum Orbis Terrarum to be honest.
Except those two issues the mod is working perfectly so far, hope we will get more features and societies in future updates especially for Carthage.
Thanks Arduus, Well in regards to the city view I can't change too much at this point, and to be fair I've always had a 1080p view so I'm not sure if that might be an issue if you have a lower res or a widescreen. I actually am trying to see if I can use the font (interface) from Theatrum Orbis at the moment as it's much clearer than the stock CKII font, but I like the map having a more "modern" and vibrant look than the basic washed out appearence in base CKII, the Theatrum Orbis could be integrated later on as a sub-mod since alot of it simply changes how the map is portrayed etc and it shouldn't be too difficult.
Your mod is so good. My wet dreams come true! I really love how you change Asia Minor peninsula.
Thanks haha I appreciate the positive feedback!
the mod does not work ^^

Umm, it runs to 3.3 version.

Is it possible for you to compile an exact list of which DLC is required to play?
