Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Description

Well, well well.

I'm sure everyone's been having fun with the 005 release but back here at the 'studios' work is already underway for the next release. So, what will be new? Mostly the Turanic Raiders as the last race I plan to implement into Path to Victory.

As a preview of great things to come I want to show you a video. What does it show? Well simple, the reimaged Raider Assassin Ion Array Frigate. You'll get a formal introduction to this unit sometime later. For now what you need to know is:

Name: Assassin
Role: Counters hostile Frigates and Capital Ships
Armament: 1x Ion Array Cannon
2x Kinetic Repeater Turret

About this ship: The Assassin is the heart of any Turanic raiding force. It provides vital fire support when the raider's strike craft and corvettes just don't cut it. Built off the chassis of a T-888 freighter, the Assassin is essentially a bulk hauler with its cargo bay replaced by an ion cannon. Two Ion Array Sails provide magnetic acceleration to the ion cannon, giving this somewhat clumsy ship an incredible ammount of firepower.

Despite it's shape, the raiders have tinkered with this ship extensively. The result is an ungainly but oddly manueverable ship. If you're going up against one of these, caution is best advised.
