Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Description

With the Vaygr Cruiser complete and the Hiigaran drones complete, we're now moving to the so far largest Hiigaran addition, the Cruiser.

This ship is a bit unusual, both in build and functionality. Simmilarly to the Vaygr Cruiser, it can be upgraded with one of two subsystems however it's combat style is not defined by these subsystems. Instead, they boost the cruiser's existing combat capacity.

In default configuration, the Cruiser is armed with three Ion Cannon turrets and drone production bays. It also has a hangar which can dock or launch Fighters and Corvettes.

The EMP Flak Turret gives the cruiser an additional defense mechanism against enemy fighters or corvettes.

The Ion Cannon Turret boosts its already considerable anti-capital ship and anti-frigate armement but leaves the Cruiser open to enemy strike craft.

It is worth noting the Cruiser can not build any other subsystems, meaning it can not be upgraded directly (navcomp or ECM module, etc.) the way other Hiigaran capital ships can. However this ship has a native hyperdrive capability, making it ideal for long-range scouting or hit and run operations.
