Parallel Future is a MP modification built on CryTek's Source engine. A single player part is also planned. Our game is placed in around 2050, in the war-torn Central and North America. You can join either the United Militia, the remnants of the US Army, or the Fuerzas Expedicionarias (Expeditionary Forces), whose mission is highly suspicous even to its own troops. Both sides will feature unique weapons and vehicles, as well as their own characteristic tactics.

The gameplay model is a hybrid between team deathmatch and team roudmatch – players will respawn in groups, making teamplay much more comfortable than in classic team deatchmatch.

The main game features are inventory and trading, which results in a new concept of player interaction., dynamic multiple map objectives – you also have an alternative objective, in case the primary would fail. Besides that, expect some objective shifts along the gameplay.

Multi-functional vehicles – the vehicles are not only used for driving around, they will also have turrets and be able to carry equipment. In case they would be damaged, the player could repair them.

Emphasis is also being put on weapon modification, as you are able to attach and detach various add-ons, such as laser sights, scopes, grenade launchers, silencers or bipods. However, handling a fully equipped weapon is not as tedious as it might be, if we had not made the interface much more efficient.

The player will also have a dynamic map, which is very useful for creating original tactics and coherent teamplay.

Another original touch is air support: player will be able to intercept airdrops, scattered around the map, containing various weapons and equipment, even vehicles. Your team's cargo plane can also be used as a spawn point so you can dive deep in the enemy territory. Also expect to call an airstrike now and then, which will help you clean out enemy encampments.

Also expect to be using portable turrets and sensor beacons to make your defense grid much more adaptable.

We are also planning to include visual character modification, so that players could recognise you by your model.

Besides that, a day-night effect module for maps is also being planned.

The Parallel Future team has chosen to make our development more public, so we recently opened a public development forum, where fans can share their opinion about our project with us and help to improve their gameplay experience.

However, this also means that have just released more media which might have remained secretive until the release, so you can come to our forum and have a sneak peak at our image & data collection - the PF Bible - and post your comments or at least feast your eyes.

And a sneak peak of one of the concepts that has just been released:

And died.

End of 2003/early 2004, lots of HL2 teams moved to Far Cry, but just few made it to real release.

Firstly: Why does that guy look so scared? Secondly: Those are awesome models you got. Futuristic, but still realistic. Now put those images in the image gallery! Good work on this!

with what game did u use to show off the hud
we made that HUD preview when we were makin PF mod for UT2k3, but now as you can see we have switched to HL2. Anyway the HUD you see on the screenshot probably won't be in the game, as we have made many huge changes to the mod

is there any place where u can read about how to create kick arse huds?
Hm I have no idea about that one, just come up with a good idea, and make it in Photoshop, then export it to HL2 SDK(when its released)

and I am watching.. this mod looks like it's gonna cream
Hm I don't quite understand what you ment by that
