Pandaemonium is a third person Total Conversion of Half-Life 2 that will have the player guide their character, the Vampiric Mercenary Morthor, through several levels, such as urban sprawls, filled with various humanoid and monstrous enemies to engage in combat. During this, gunplay, tactics and acrobatics will all play an important role. Gunplay will be important, as the best way for the player to 'win', is with superior firepower: avoiding their own death and thus a "Game Over" and killing the enemy first. Basically, their reflexes will be put to the test. Furthermore, certain ammunitions or guns will have an advantage in certain situations; the players will have to figure this out for themselves and this is part of the game. Also, more often than not, Morthor will be outnumbered and will have to survive by superior tactics. As an example, he’ll have to figure out the behaviour of several patrols, destroy them one by one and attack the main group of enemies after...

Today, I've got three updates for those who are watching this mod.

The first two are concept art related. Simon, our concept artist, produced two extra good looking colored concept art pieces. One from Brimstone, the leader of the Hellfire Demons and one of a Blooddoll, the first variation:

Brimstone Concept Art, Colored Blooddoll #1 Concept Art, Colored

Both are exclusive to Mod DB :D

The third update concerns the engine of this project.

From the start, there have been some problems with the interaction of the artists with the Source engine. Despite our efforts, it still won't 'click'. Therefor, we're looking into changing of the engine; whether or not this would have a positive effect on our proceedings. As very few art assets on this moment are directly tied to Source, e.g. in a Source-specific (file) format, we expect that if we do change, it'll be of a relatively low impact. Of course I'll post the news as soon as the engine change (or not) is definitive :)

Yeh I agree with ryker the girl looks very hot for a drawing, however her face is kinda big and ugly. And her hair doesnt add to her supposibly sexy appearence. Other than that they look awesome :)

Well, you know what they say: beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;) Besides, she's giving blood for a leaving...she must be a little screwy, so it prolly extends to what choices she makes for her hair :D

Either way, thanks for the interest :)

What issues are you having with the Source engine content pipeline? Getting stuff ingame?

It was a conscious decision to refrain from making the Blood Doll too 'cute'. After all, she's a body lending, blood giving, junkie prostitute. Have you ever seen one? They usually arent that cuddly. Anyway, for what it'is worth, it was my intetion to give her the look of a discarded doll.

@RabidMonkey: There are more reasons then that, but yes, that's an important one.
