Well, it is advisable to model from blueprints as it improves the historical accuracy.

You will undoubtly model as you want, but you need to depict them as they were, as @onrAArno says. Otherwise no one will take you seriously.

if you make this mod just for fun,than you can of course make the models without any accuracy . but if you want to make the mod famous/popular, you need to take it seriously.
to be honest the model looks not good at all ...
