This mod initially started as a small project for friends back in 2008, inspired by Synergy Trials, which was supposed to be essentially a series of trials that could be modified by another player. However, over it's over 3 year development cycle it turned into something much bigger, and in the end grew to about 30 thousand lines of code for the mod alone. Unfortunately, due to many constraints it hasn't been finished, particularly in the art department, although it's fully playable and I would say it is fun in its own, twisted way. I'd like to share the mod and its source code in case someone wants to give it a try with some friends, or would like to see how certain things had been done in the source code.
Above gameplay was recorded without Ov interface visible, however it showcases the basic idea - one player drops a handful of traps into the other team's way, while they have to get through them to the end. It's something of a Zombie Master (if anyone still remembers it :) ) & deathrun combo, although when I first started developing it I had played only the former. The traps can be placed literally anywhere, as long as it's not somewhere too close to the rebels for balance's sake, and they themselves, when destroyed, deploy their own little traps... it's like a trapcetion. Either way, it's a very chaotic and hectic experience at times, and can be quite fun to see your friends get devourer by a meat grinder.
This will most probably be the only release, hence the "perpetual early access" title. ;) I don't expect anything more to happen with it, considering I am myself currently involved in some other gamedev project. However, hopefully someone will find this helpful.
