NOTE:
There is no lip synch in this mod as it was not the focus and I did not have the extra 3 weeks or more it would have taken to do it. Again, this mod is first and foremost a portfolio piece for level design. You'll have to use your suspension of disbelief on that matter. Everything else is in there though.
Outpost 16 is a moody single-player level for HL2:EP2 that also includes custom voice acting, models, and music.
This mod was made initially only to be used as a piece for my level design portfolio. After discussing with friends, I decided to release it to the community. There were supposed to be many more levels, as part of an overall campaign. After realizing the amount of energy required to do just ONE level up to the standard of quality I desired, I quickly had to rearrange my story and compress as much as possible into one level. This is the highly edited result: Outpost 16.
Visit the download section of this mod's page and you can extract all the necessary files required to play this single-level mod. Don't let its length fool you, there is a LOT packed into it. I would compare it to an animated short: fun, not long enough to drag, and made to impress.
Updated post, i loved the building explosion in the vid, if i owned hl2 ep 2 id give it a try.
SON, I AM NOT DISAPOINT.
Looks great! Gonna try it out. I'll try to give a "review" tomorrow.
Verdict: Very Good.
REALLLY REALLLLLLY nice mapping!
And i thought HL2 content based maps will always be boring...
This is fantastic. It really is an incredible shame you're not going to finish it.
By the time it'd take me to finish another installment, hopefully Episode 3 will be out :)
This was a lot of fun to play; went through it a couple of times. Loved the sequences below, and the environments were very interesting to look around throughout both sections.
Performance issues weren't as bad as I expected after the warning given in the readme. I did turn most of the graphics down to a mix of medium/low before I started playing though.
Very good job, I enjoyed it. I'd love to see more :D
Very much enjoyed this map. Clearly made with an eye for aesthetics that I'm not sure the FPS medium allows full appreciation of, but I certainly tried my best.
