The game takes place in the Seven Hours War aftermath. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, six months after the Seven Hour War.
These weapons should be heavy for the player, so the player chooses to pick them by pressing E on them. Once picked, the player will get slower (50% his actual speed) and won't be able to change weapons while carrying the weapon. Pressing Q should drop the weapon.
Once rounds are depleted, the gun gets dropped by the player instantly. They should be one-use guns. The player either chooses to carry on with them and use them 'til the end, or not use them at all.
This is the equivalent of a HL1 gluon gun. Storywise it's a prototype dark energy-based synth that will be recycled later by the Combine, and part of its technology will go in strider cannon research.
