i was wondering, how many texture maps did you use for the Leman Russ and what was on them?
i was thinking to use 3. 1 for the hull, second for the sides, tracks and sponsons and the last map for all the weapons. maybe even a 4th for the sponson weapons.
1 texture for the hull.And 1 for the turret.
One covers the main body and sides.The other
covers the turret,and all the barrels of the other variants.
The tracks use their own 256x256 texture.Which is tiled.
There's also a texture for both the interior and driver section.I didn't worry about poly count too much there,as nothing is visible outside the turret.And very little from the driver station.

I think most people could do a similar job.It just takes some patience,
and a fair bit of practice. :)
