Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view), N:TAA is growing in unforeseen ways and threatening to split its plantpot. And as much as my own skills in various fields have grown and progressed along with the mod, I fear that I'm not enough to keep this beastie fed. So every now and then I'll be posting requests for help in some way. If you see a task listed here that you think is up your street, then please pm me and we can discuss the details.
Task - Talented texturer required to finish off ship model.
I have a small model that needs finishing off. Although I'n not too bad at creating models, it's the texturing that I'm not too good at. So if you're willing and have lightwave (or a program that'll allow you to work on .LWO/.LWS files), then drop me a pm.
Task - New charcter avatars required.
Well this one is well out my ball park. Each of the characters in Nexus:TJI has their own little animated portrait and I require a few more of these, otherwise the pics will be over-used.
Be warned, there's a lot of work involved here as each portrait will have to have lots of slightly different 'frames' as the character talks. (Sorry, it's the way the devs made the game).
Pm me if interested, there's no real time limit here as it's a long term project.
My word, it's been a long time since I last did this!
Well, first of all, my apologies for the long absence. For those of you who were starting to think things like 'oh great, another dead mod' or 'looks like I won't be playing this one', I'll counter those with thoughts like 'over my rotting corpse' and 'I'll see you in hell for that snowball fight first'.
Although work has slowed down somewhat (real life getting in the way once more :( ), it hasn't actually stopped. Since the last update I've been working hard on mission 11, after some awkward and fiendishly tricky AI routines were sorted (this mission actually contains background activity instead as simply having the player and the enemy present!). Speaking of which, rather than simply having the enemy chase you around, they now follow patrol routes if left alone and will actually go back to them if you escape. But those and the dialog files have now been written and I'm in the middle of scripting the mission events, with that section complete done, there's just one last bit to look into before I move onto one of the remaining three missions( aye, the end of phase two is finally coming over the horizon :) ).
As well as working on N:TAA, I've also started learning how to do 3D modeling for the game using lightwave ( it's been a tough struggle, but worth it so far). Hopefully some of my efforts will make an appearance, but it's taking up quite a bit of time.
Well, that's more or less where I've been. So again, my apologies for the lack of activity here but work doesn't stop( I just wish I had more time in the day), so keep the faith my friends, for N:TAA is drawing ever closer...

Just a quick note or two for those who still drop in despite the lack of activity.
NTAA is still very much breathing, after some serious problems (Nexus was really annoying and not wanting to play) I put it down for a month or two and concentrated on lightwave instead. After a little break, it became apparent that my earlier (the first few missions at least) were somewhat... below par. As such, I'm now rewriting the majority (about 90%) of the project.
Although there's nothing to show just yet, I think that what NTAA now is, far surpasses what it was.
So my apologies to those waiting for NTAA, but episode one is now well underway. And just to give you a bit of warning folks, at some point in the future I'll be asking for volunteers for voice acting. If you think this is you, drop me a mail or a pm. When the time comes I'll be in contact.
