It was a wonderful 2010 summer, and I got an itch to play homeworld my favorite pc game. After some time i started to want to mod some little things like fighter power, capital power, etc.... And it was from this that i thought that i could revive my favorite game and who knows if someone likes this mod and get the itch to play this game again...So if you're reading this i thank you for downloading my little mod for this great game... Now this is my first mod and it has no big graphical changes as it is not the objective of this mod... This mod is just an exchange of the ships capabilities... The mod is called this way because it adds more strategic options to consider within the game play... More specific info in text included in the mod folder... Just copy and paste the files into your game folder....
This mod is fatally flawed and has obviously not been tested very well outside of the authors rig. The "ETG" folder, as far as I can tell, causes an immediate crash to desktop after selecting "skirmish" or "singleplayer." I tried all manner of configurations until simply deleting the modified file folders actually got the game working just fine again.
I've had years of experience with mods and I guess its fair to say that even though I'm running more modern hardware their are always ways to bypass and troubleshoot these sort of things- I even gave it a go on my old 98se machine and Windows XP service pack 3 on another desktop. Same crash. Same collection of folders caused it to misbehave. I saw their was a recent crash fix and tried that as well. Same error. Not sure what the author is running, but the only thing I can possibly think is that *MAYBE* just maybe they need to consider another crash fix. Otherwise I used to run very old mods for Homeworld in my spare time years ago- and I still had Windows 7 x64- and they still all worked.
Excellent balance. I love playing as the Kushan more than ever now.
Wish I could advise you on how to make it better, but thus far I can't seem to find anywhere it's particularly lacking.
