Hi Bass,

You have maybe some blue prints for P-40 Kittyhawk. I would try to do one for the British. (a page from where to download)
I have Autodesk 3ds Max 9, to see if I can handle it.
What do you say, shall we?

thanks

Hello!

It's cool that another modder want to make also new airplanes for MowAS!

Personnaly, as i've good skills with photoshop, i never buyed blueprints. You can make them yourself on the basis of drawing (the minimum is to have 3 views well scaled: side, front and top).
I used a french tutorial which helped me to learn that:
Tomtom73.free.fr

For the P40, you can use the drawings of this page: you have all you need and more (the differents sections for the wings and the fuselage):
Scale-model-aircraft.com

Here is exactly the technic i often use to make my planes: modifications of the vertex of simples objects.

Every part of your plane must be thinked as simple objects before, and modified after.
With more complicated forms, you can also think boolean operations (for example to make 2 windows in your fuselage, you can make a simple rectangle object, apply a fillet on each edge, and then apply the bolean substract operation: (select fuselage, substract this rectangle (option cut/keep the inside): that's all: you have 2 holes for the windows on both sides of the fuselage, with their 2 windows.. Edit material for them, apply glass, and it's finish!

It need some reflexion first, but it's easy to work like this.
You can also assembly your differents parts with bollean (union operation)

Don't hesitate to contact me (in pm) if you have issues with 3DSmax and for more infos, here you will find 2 very good tutos from cromtec (for modelling vehicules and tanks+ 1 3dsmax example file) and some goodies (tutos, exporter plugin, etc..):
Mediafire.com

Good luck! (I hope you have more free time than me)

Cheers,
Bass
