Horizon Class Colony ship T.E.F image - New Dawn mod for Sins of a Solar Empire

Technically Horizon ships arnt actually a part of the T.E.F, rather they belong to the Human Colonial Development Bureau and are often crewed heavily with its members. This however has not always been the case as up until 2589, up until this point the T.E.F has always been in charge of setting up colonies. However the T.E.F's colony division was closed due to the fact that of all its branchs the T.E.F.C.D (yea its a long one) was the most prone to corruption with almost a fifth of all its high command being removed from their position due to the abuse of their power. For the most part this came down to an over militarisation of the colonies or a gross misuse of the funds. The final straw occured when one Fleet Admiral Smith syphoned reasources from the colonies to fund a rebel band which he then fed in depth knowledge of unprotected targets allowing them to accumulate massive wealth whilst cutting him a portion of the loot. This continued until the Earth security Bureau managed to discover his treachery and attempted to aprehend him. The attempt failed and he managed to escape aboard a shuttle and went into hiding, for three years the T.E.F and the Earth security Bureau hunted Smith until he was finaly cornered in an asteroid belt with a large majority of the rebel fleet who were preparing to launch their attack on the nearby system. The TSS Washington (an Aurora Class Super Carrier) the battle lasted for three hours during which the enemies flag ship was crippled by the Washington's broadside guns. Marine teams where then despatched where they managed to successfully board the ship and capture Smith. The mission went extremly well as the Washington managed to cripple the enemy fleet the Washingtons shields had held out despite heavy enemy fire and even Smith was captured alive. Smith was convicted of high treason and was later executed.
