Naiteki Kensei

Naruto: Naiteki Kensei (www.naiteki-kensei.com) is a free total-conversion of Half-Life 1 that offers a new and unique  fast-paced gaming experience based on the hit Japanese anime Naruto. Combining aspects of a third-person shooter and an action-based fighter, players will be able to go head-to-head against others online casting clever and powerful jutsus, performing evasive, acrobatic, and free-form movement and melee, and utilizing an array of weapons with multiple functions easily and evenly.

Players are able to transverse through full 3D environments, utilizing various ways of movment such as walking on walls and water or dashing around the streets of a village.

Gameplay consists of three main systems: weapons (#2-0 or mouse scroll), jutsus (holding shift and inputting a combination of WASD keys), and taijutsu or melee (#1 slot).

The weapons included have both primary and secondary functions for each one. Players are able to use kunais as a melee weapon and are able to throw them. Shurikens can be thrown one at a time yet accurately, or multiple stars in a spread-out shotgun manner. Exploding tags can be stuck on surfaces and players, as well as being able to throw one connected to a kunai.

The jutsu system allows players to execute powerful jutsus or techniques. By holding shift, players will then input combo strings of 2-4 using WASD on the keyboard. Correctly inputting a combo will then execute its respective attack.

The taijutsu or melee system is very simple to learn, yet takes much skill to become the best. The primary function allows players to attack consecutively for five hits, then sending your player sliding back. The secondary function allows players to knock their opponents to the air, where various other methods of attack can then be executed, such as throwing a weapon or performing a jutsu, or jumping in the air to execute an air combo.

Naruto: Naiteki Kensei is still in the developmental stages, so it has not yet been released. The first release will consists of Team 7, which includes Hatake Kakashi, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto. Roughly, each character will have three character-specific jutsus to use at his or her arsenal.

Welcome to Friday Update #60!

Quick streamlined game play is important. Here's one of the ways we're improving your experience with a look at our Quickfire System!

  MediaMedia

NNK has always been first and foremost a close combat fighter. But when starting the project we knew there would still be many players who chose to play at a distance and let others duke it out face to face. From other successful projects we quickly learned that most players fighting from the sidelines were almost defenseless against any sudden attacks. They weren't prepared and after being surprised would often be too flustered to quickly switch into close combat weapons.

One innovation we implemented into NNK was making jutsus combo based. So you never need to worry about switching your weapons away from your primary focus. You are simply able to hold down the shift key and input seals to perform your preferred jutsu. We decided that we needed to take it one step further with our Quickfire system.

Quickfire means that at all times while playing NNK, your mouse buttons will be bound to melee. To select an alternate weapon you scroll through the selection with your mouse wheel. To use the selected item you simply press your quickfire button (whichever you have chose to bound it to). This enables you to stay in combo frenzy mode, or always be prepared for a surprise ambush!

One of the biggest benefits of NNK is that you can plan out your combos on foes. Instead of the action becoming too intense and quick and worrying about switching between melee and exploding tags, you have the option to always keep your tags at the ready. No longer will you worry about fumbling keys. You are now simply able to smash an opponent into the air, slap a tag on their chest, and smash them away before exploding with the greatest of ease.

Additionally, we know a lot of you have been asking about Sasuke's Chidori, so enjoy the teaser!

Cheers!

Well it shouldn't be too hard to make both in game, just make one bigger with more lightning coming out. It could be like Goku's to different spirit bombs.

Balancing purposes, if he could use the Raikiri that would be all anyone would use and they would spam it run, regenerate and spam it again.

No... Raikiri, is a more powerful version of the Chidori. Kakashi firstly invented Chidori as A-rank jutsu. After some time, he maked a Raikiri which is S-rank jutsu. Naruto.wikia.com
You are right that the effect is same, but Raikiri is, how it is in a link, more concentrated = more powerful. So its a new, stronger jutsu, like Fuuton: Rasenshuriken is a stronger version of the Rasengan :)
