Naiteki Kensei

Naruto: Naiteki Kensei is a free stand alone game that offers a unique fast-paced experience based on the hit Japanese anime Naruto. Players are able to compete online using a system that combines aspects of a third-person shooter and an action-based fighter to provide a new thrilling experience. The system includes casting clever and powerful Jutsus, stringing together Melee combos, evasive acrobatic free-form Movement, and utilizing an array of Weapons with multiple functions all seamlessly.

Players are able to transverse through full 3D environments, utilizing various ways of movement such as walking on walls, water, or dashing around the streets of a village.

Gameplay consists of three main systems: Weapons that take advantage of a quickfire system, Jutsus that make use of combo based inputs, and Taijutsu abilities that can transfer into aerial combos!

Players are able to throw a single Kunai, or a spread of Shurikens to damage opponents and disrupt their Jutsu's. Exploding tags can be stuck on surfaces and players, as well as being able to throw one attached to a Kunai.

The Jutsu system allows players to execute powerful Jutsus or techniques. By holding shift, players will then input combo strings of 2-4 using WASD on the keyboard. Correctly inputting a combo will then execute its respective attack.

The Taijutsu or melee system is very simple to learn but takes a lot of practice to become the best. The primary function allows players to attack consecutively for five hits before sending your opponent sliding back. The secondary function allows players to knock their opponents into the air, where various other methods of attack can then be executed, such as throwing a weapon, performing a Jutsu, or jumping in the air to continue an aerial combo.

Naruto: Naiteki Kensei has been officially released to the public! The first release consists of Team 7, which includes Hatake Kakashi, Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto. Each character has three specific Jutsus at their disposal.

i R1 is a free online multiplayer game, created as a fan-project for many others to enjoy. It is a total-conversion of Half-Life 1, meaning the game was created based on the Half-Life engine. Time to get back to updating this page!
Hi guys, SV here! For those who don't know, I'm the lead developer of this project, currently filling various positions such as environment design, modelling, character animations, texturing, visual FX, sounds, and practically just about anything else that doesn't involve programming. Up until now, Tenken was the coder I teamed up with.
A lot has happened behind the scenes though. Good stuff and bad...
Many team members are no longer active due to personal obligations.

Honestly, to say it plainly, it's just me right now.
That's about to change though, starting October!

Either way, that hasn't stopped me from working hard on this project in the past year, and I've made a lot of progress.
Some which I'm very excited to share with you right now. :)

So lets get to it!

That's basically it for now guys.
I have a LOT more I'm not sharing yet, because I need to focus on actually working on things, rather than keep track on what's pretty enough to show. ;D

I do promise however, that I'll keep you guys posted, weekly if I can.
What NNK (and I) really needs right now is your support!

If you're a skilled animator with experience, motivation, free time, have lots of passion for Naruto and wants to help the cause, let me know!
I'm currently doing a lot of work on my own, and I could definitely use some help. :)

Great work here guys, I found the models and textures particularly interesting I'm becoming a fan for this style as opposed from reality of course. What is more interesting is that you've picked an older engine, could you tell us why? Could it be to do with the lighting/lack of shadows to achieve the Cartoon look?

Mostly practical reasons... most of us know the engine as well as own pocket. It is also a fun challenge to create something "good" looking while you're working with so many limitations due to the engine (at the same time it can be quite frustrating though)

And we still have something up our sleeves related to light and shadows.. it probably won't look as dull in the final mod as it does now :)

The release date is TBD.
And we are not "every other naruto mod" and we won't die. Absolutely everyone who is on our team has been modding Half-Life and/or other engines for years and we all know what we're doing while basically all other Naruto mod teams (talking about HL mods only, not calling any names here) consist(ed) mostly of bloody noobs. No offense to them though ;P

Obviously we cannot 100% guarantee that but just look at what our dev member have done before NNK and have faith is us ;P

it was working fine yesterday evening but this morning the domain was pointing to a wrong directory on the server where the website is hosted.
its easy to fix and no data is lost, I just can't do it right now because I am at work.

hi i just started watching this mod and it seems to be looking pretty good, ive seen all of the updates and im impressed but i only have one question, do you think this mod will have a release date and NOT die before that said date? and if you do tnhik so what is an estimate date u can give us? im not sayin that the mod will fial or anything im just wondering because about every other naruto mod on this site has died/been abandoond and i was just woried because this one looks very promising

I can't believe that this is a HL mod that is to show that gold source "HL engine" is really impressive. Now like in my last review I'm going to get the major bad parts out of the way and for this mod there is not that much.. --------- For starters not that many servers but for a mod like this it happens and same goes for not a lot of characters but like I said for 1.0 it's very well done. Also the usual start server then crashes but a lot of mods have that problem so nothing much to say there…
