Hey, I can see you're getting some flac for the demo. Have this tutorial, it might help you get better at mapping:
Moddb.com

Also another word of advice, focus on making a short and small story with detail and care rather than make it big. It will be easier, more satisfying and the results will be more well-received.

-the idea is not original
-the rooms are not decorated, try to put some weight on the environment
-i didnt understood the second part when you get out of the house. It is supposed to be a city or what?
-the corridors are too big and opened, try to make them smaller and compact
-try to emphasizes the idea of death and madness by making candles that light themselvs, that burn out , shadows that dissapear, etc.
-I didnt understood where to go from the beginning. I know this is a demo but that doesnt mean you dont have to work for it.
-some thing just dont make sense : why is there a dungeon?
-try making the environmet more drepressed, not full of light like in the house (for ex. make some instances where the character goes insane , but dont abuse them)
-more backstory, make the player at least care for the charater
-why monsters? At least give me a reason why there are monsters when the story is supposed to be about a man who goes insane when he loses his wife.

NOTE : Didnt finishes the DEMO yet, will come to update.

I cannot edit/delete my other comment so I will rate the DEMO on my usual way

Positives:
-Music
Negatives:
- Boring - Empty, long corridors with nothing in them - Extremely bland and lazy design - Not scary the slightest - All of the monsters were extremely easy to avoid - 99% endless key quests - Storyline terrible, unfinished and cliché -

I'm too lazy to write anything about this now. I hope the negatives section will tell you the thing- do NOT play this demo. 1/10

DEMO REVIEW:
Please note that this score is present for the demo and demo only.

Wow! Back straight into 2012, brought nostalgia in my mind. Empty corridors, endless key quests and Grunts. That's pretty much it. Empty corridors, bland design and pretty much below average.
3/10

The Demo is annoying. To much corridors, big maps with nothing, so much of everything, try to do more simplify, I vote for now 4 or 3.

Tbh I haven't played the demo, but I can already see the rooms are too empty atm. Big empty rooms are a no-go! Try to make smaller rooms with a lot of things in it or make big rooms with beautiful environment.
I wrote an example under one of the screenshots. :)
