A new server-side version of code - B17.01 - is now available from the main site for server admins to increase the stability of their servers, as well as to fix a couple of known bugs.
Here is an extract from the readme for B17.01:

Changes between B17 and B17.01:

* Provided a fix for the ability to crash servers via a bad chat command.
* Stopped the writing of .nav files - which we have determined are responsible for continously increasing memory hogging by MBII servers. (Please make sure you clear out any existing .nav files from your system when running this new version)
* Fixed ammo bug.
* Fixed 'red sabers on Hero team' bug.

Please note that there are no gameplay alterations included in this hotfix. These changes are mainly for server stability.
Gameplay changes will be coming in a later, more comprehensive patch...
