Morning Faith is a source engine mod. It stands outside of the expectations of many current single player source mods, because of its lack of run n gun combat. Instead of giving the player an arsenal of guns they will have to use their surroundings to advance through the game. This game has very involving puzzles and scripted terrifying situations.
This is a bit of a test to show you how the new puzzle system and object description will work with the game. Please excuse the sloppyness :) thanks!

It seems the audio is lagging quite a bit, sorry about that. When he drops the brick into the hole you can hear a definitive splash of water, thats why the player feels safe to jump.

I like the voices, but the whole idea is kinda faulty. Why even throw the brick down? You couldve just jumped. And if you made an invisible wall that would only go when the brick is at the bottom, then its just a boring time consumer :(
Because if you can't see the bottom of a random hole in reality, your best bet is to find out how deep it is, and the best way to do that, is throw down a rock, and the sound will let you know how deep it really is.
Its not part of the mod, just a quick demonstration. Also, I'd never jump down a into a black abyss without knowing how deep it is, would you?
Lol I would in a mod, and its annoying. You might as well save and jump in lol.

I think it is really interesting choice when using those "help things". It will make it easier to understand the rules of the puzzle and the player can focus more on the task ;)

i dont get how this is a puzzle tho? maby if there were multiple holes but
how is this a "new puzzle system" i dont really see anything new because if you droped a rock in to a pit in any source game you would also hear it hit the floor :?.
are you talking about new subtitle system?
thats nothing new with source, just a simple point_message entity :/ , might as well say new puzzle system using triggers :P.
