Morning Faith is a source engine mod. It stands outside of the expectations of many current single player source mods, because of its lack of run n gun combat. Instead of giving the player an arsenal of guns they will have to use their surroundings to advance through the game. This game has very involving puzzles and scripted terrifying situations.
Wooh! Morning Faith hit 100 watchers today, and as promised we are writing a nice little article about how working on Morning Faith has been and how it will be. Both myself and Bekey have devoted many hours mapping, creating textures and... attempting to prop model (with no avail I might add). Much to our surprise we hit 100 watchers pretty quickly into development. So with this milestone I thought we'd tell you a bit more about how development goes.

The first map that we made was a great one. You can see it in our images, but it didn't hit our standards of realism. Being a horror game immersion is one of the biggest effects we can use to really scare the player, so we can't really have a long road with a house on one side and a store on the other. Once its geometry and lighting were completely finished, we ended up dropping it and starting over completely. The initial story line of the game has changed as well. Starting off we didn't have a complete design document, because we wanted more feedback on our storyline. We were eager to start so Bekey and I sat down and bounced ideas for a long time, giving us a great story line, something original. With that being said, here is an exclusive piece:

I hope you enjoyed that. Another thing the MF team wanted to include in the game was loads of scripted puzzles, a point-observe system, as well as a few other newly coded features. I hope you have enjoyed this new article so far.
For the end I'd like to give some thanks to our 100 Watcher:

Sincerely, Morning Faith Team
Also we would like to say farewell to our previous members, Goldendeed and Nodarg, Bye guys and good luck! You were a big help when we started this mod!

i just read the letter from john peppers and i literaly thought it was saying kissing instead of killing when i first look at it lol :P such as "nothing to stop them from kissing me just like they kissed everyone else" but its just the font looks like an s to me :P also that "puzzle" test dosent realy seam like a puzzle to me? all in all looking forward to seeing this mod finished :D
I know after i made it i realized the font was a little sketchy. There was even a part that read "killing all"... needless to say i changed it.
Oh... that says killing? I was kinda enjoying it when it said 'kissing' instead of 'killing,' it makes it sound more mysterious and intriguing because of the slang. But now that I've read it a second time, it sounds more ominous... Can't wait for more development!
the second i finished reading the letter the first thing that flashed into my mind was the words : Penumbra:Overture.
I keep being told that, never played the penumbra series but it must be brilliant.
Bad english there i think. Isn't it "One thing i have Learnt" not Learned?
Its not bad english. American English uses learned, while British English uses learnt. Sorry if it came off as unfair or unprofessional the writer of the document is american.
nice music :)
