Stepping back in time, back to the 1962 where the XM16E1 showed up and took over the M16 spot. An old yet a great rifle.
The XM16E1 still wanders around, and somehow it managed to sneak into the zone, an ideal hunting AR equipped with a Colt 3 x 20 scope, an accurate weapon to be feared.
The rifle comes in two variants, the top one will replace the vanilla M16A1 which is a sniper rifle, the second one will relate on NPCs' rank, Elite, Mercs, and maybe the Army will carry it more often than the others, expensive, and handy as it uses modernized parts and more for being reliable.

Oh this looks nice, my question hasnt exactly been answered, any news about a m203 for the M16?
The M16A1 has a triangular hand guard, it doesn't allow attaching anything, only modern ARs with RIS and rail system are capable of attaching GLs and stuff.
Im pretty sure there's that one handguard which has the m203 on it, at the same time-frame as the M16.
As far as I understood only after designing the A2 the M16 family was able to have launchers, the A2 was the first to feature a new handguard in form of heatshield which allowed attaching the M203. I could be totally wrong, if you can provide a photo of an A1 equipped with a launcher it'll be very helpful.
There are photos of Nam where they use both the XM148 and M203 on their A1s St2.wz.cz and St2.wz.cz Also, Im pretty sure I just posted this comment half and hour ago...
From the looks of those photo's, it seems the soldiers are Australian SAS with the weapons. And from what I can find online, it wasn't a mass produced version, more of a unit by unit modification.
As you can see these rifles have mounted adaptors for mounting M203, mounting it without them is impossible. We would need new grenade launcher model with these adaptors.
Weren't you guys doing an M16 with an integrated M203 and heat shield a while ago? I'm sure everybody would love to still see that in game and i sure wouldn't mind introducing a few bandits to "my little friend"
That's actually one of the remaining M16 variants I'm working on, it will probably be an A2 given the models I have.
Have you any "mp_ranks" CTDs with so many weapons?
I haven't added any of the new weapons to that file, it's the last thing I need to worry about actually.
God damn it these look amazing. Im a big fan of the M16 series, and even though the A3 with the grenade launcher is by far my favourite, th2 A1 stands right after it.
And again with the wood touch. Perfect. I never saw a wood styled A1, but making it was a briliant cosmetic decision.
