"The third-tier 9x18mm round will ensure that using a 9x18mm weapon in the mid-game will no longer be a bad idea."

While I can't commit to future projects just yet, the basic materials I believe are there for a M.I.N.E. for CoP.

To answer your question, yes, this could be done in CoP.

Does this mean M.I.N.E is going to use a system in which the ammo goes from "beginner - intermediate - advanced" for most weapons, then, or just 9x18 caliber?

I hope you pursue this system with most ammunition types - It will really help organize my inventory and reduce the weight I'm carrying, and I'm a bit OCD about that sort of stuff. I always hated having 2-3 different ammunitions for 2-3 different purposes in vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R games. :P

Some weapons have three tiers, but most have two; this keeps things relatively simple.

Further simplifying things, with the EasyEconomy system, you can work your way into a faction's good side, and then buy armor-piercing rounds from the faction - this lessens the need to keep the normal ammo in inventory to supplant low amounts of AP ammo.

Since you can eventually buy AP ammo (which is scarce in the vanilla game), you can now discard the old (ineffective?) 1st tier ammo.

This tiered approach gives you budget flexibility, and tactical flexibility.

Description

The player prepares to embark on a night raid into the Zone, armed with a suppressed PP-19 "Bizon" sub-machine gun.

The PP-19 will accept three different types of 9x18mm rounds, all of which feature increasing armor penetration and damage characteristics.

The third-tier 9x18mm round will ensure that using a 9x18mm weapon in the mid-game will no longer be a bad idea.
