Military Forces Quake 3 (MFQ3) is the continuation of the line of AirQuake mods. Many of the team come from working on AirQuake2, and many have made add-ons to the legendary AirQuake. In MFQ3, the player can choose to fly planes of all sizes, drive tanks or even captain boats, fighting in a variety of locations. MFQ3 aims to balance the realism of 'serious' flight sims with arcade fun to mix an infectious gameplay cocktail. MFQ3 currently has a public alpha available for download, and we are nearing the completion of the next public release. A few highlights for the next release: - All new HUD system that looks something like TheRealThing (tm). - Tons of new vehicles: planes, tanks and boats! - Shadows cast by aeroplanes: easier landings at last. - All new Team Arena-based UI system. - Basic features of our IGME working. - Kickass maps. - Sweet guided missles! No more cannon-spamming. - Animated gear dropping/retraction.

Hey guys, a re-post of Bjoern's latest post over at the MFQ3 site:

Hi everyone!

You will most likely have noticed frequent problems with the webpage, not many updates etc. The main reasons for that is that we are having severe problems with the page, accessing stuff etc. I wanted to update my plan file, upload newer qvms for the testers, but it just doesnt work. And to make it even worse I dont have a clue of webprogramming and such, so in that area I am not of much use.

However luckily two of the regular MFQ3 page visitors (Blindside and Minkis - thanks guys!) have offered help, and will try to get the page working fully again, and also to speed it up.

Development wise I am still working hard to get the code done for the release, and am almost there (thats why I wanted to give a newer version to the testers). The other good news is that I found an additional coder, Chris, who is also from Austria and a good friend of mine. He is working in the gaming industry as well, and has worked together with me in a couple of projects before. He is currently getting up and running on the code, and this will probably take him a while (so I dont expect a lot from him for this release, but afterwards he should contribute a lot).

Anyway, when the page is working better again me or Abbo will post more news, screenshots etc.

Bjoern, out.
