If you're coming from Mayhem 2, you must install Mayhem 3 from scratch, on a fresh folder of X3AP. Mayhem 2 is NOT compatible with Mayhem 3.

If you run into a problem while launching the Galaxy Generator, please deactivate your Antivirus.

Mayhem 3 requires a Windows-only software to generate galaxies. It's therefore not compatible with Linux.

Graphics pack for Mayhem 3 is mandatory.

Performance tip: set your Shaders quality to Low in the Graphics menu. It's a big ugly, and doesn't take custom colors into account, but FPS are greatly improved when lots of ships are on screen.

View distance can safely be set to very high, as well as Antialiasing to 4x. Anisotropic filtering at 8 is enough, because at 16 there's no real difference, and it makes things a bit too sharp, causing some texture flickering in the distance.

There's a rich in-game documentation directly accessible from the Encyclopedia (Personal menu -> Advanced -> Encyclopedia -> Help section). Also remember that each command has a description that you can display when you highlight it and hit "i".

• In general, everything is incompatible :) That's because all combat scripts and ships behavior have been heavily edited. Plus, Mayhem 3 has a new jumping system and uses procedural galaxies, which makes many things incompatible.
• Mayhem 3 removes MLCC, Phanon and Revelation (OCV). All mods related to them are incompatible.
• IEX is incompatible.
• X-Missions Reloaded is incompatible.
• Bounty Board is incompatible.
• MK3 Improvement Reloaded Reloaded is incompatible.
• ADS - Joubarbian Edition is incompatible.
• Satellites Monitoring is already included in Mayhem (modified version).
• The Joubarbian Toolkit is already included in Mayhem (without most hotkeys).
• Cheat Package is already included in Mayhem (modified version that doesn't break your game).

Please provide a savegame if you can, and your galaxy files (X3\mayhem_galaxies), and give as many details as you can. Remember that to fix a bug, I have to reproduce it. Report all your bugs on the Mayhem thread.

• You can customize a lot of gameplay values by simply editing "9972-L044.xml" located inside the ...X3\addon\t folder. You can customize a lot of important stuff in there, replayability guaranteed!

• The Galaxy Generator has a localization file in mayhem_data\localization.xml.
