Amnesia: Long Way Down is a "modern" custom story inspired by some games. You will follow Howard throught is terrible journey in this imaginary world inspired by the USA of the prohibition and the 60's.
Howard's journey begin by a letter from his mother, his father died, so he decide to go back in the village of his childhood, to burry is father with his family, but when he arrive in the village, everyone is gone, so he decide to investigate the village...
Howard:
Howard is a 35 years old random guy, he is not a "wealthy industrial" or an "archaeologist called Daniel", his personnality is more close to Phillip from Penumbra. Howard live in the big city of Columbia City (sort of New York).
Long Way Down took place in 1969. You will have to repair electric machines, use elevators, drive cars...

Well, there is probably the last demo for this mod, not because I'm going to release it but because I'm tired of working on it because I have several problems with HPL and Amnesia (thank you Windows 10). So I will probably stop working on this mod because I've already spend too much time on it and I don't want to spend more for nothing.
As you must know, this custom story is based about music, more precisely about music of the 50's/60's.
Time to start building new maps ! I've a lot of idea on the story and I need to build new maps and delete old ones (again...)

I don't know if you're still active, or even if this story is still being made; but if so, please contact me as soon as you can. The custom story seems great, the level design is very good and I like the general idea of it.
There is one problem, however, the grammar. Whilst, like I said previously, it is a good custom story so far, the grammar is lacking greatly and that is something that I can help you with. I would, of course, do it for free, however, I request that if you allow me to correct your grammar, you put my name in the credits - "Levi Higginson", thank you.

It is normal, there is no purpose in this map except visiting (what is boring). It was only to show the mapping.

I played some of the demo and it is definitely an interesting concept. Most custom stories that I have seen do not take place in a modern setting. A few pointers I would like to give that you may or may not know. Firstly, watch out for clipping textures and other level design errors. With clipping textures, I have discovered that separating them by 0.001 is not effective at a long distance. This means that if you are up close to the area, the textures do not clip, but if you are far away, then they do glitch out. If they do glitch out, just separate the textures some more. Second, and you probably have already done this, have an intro sequence. When I walked around the village area, I passed by a house that was supposed to be mine. Perhaps the story could start out in the house. Also, this might be a bit tedious, but whenever you use cellarbase door frames with cellarbase door ways, look above the door frame really closely, and you'll find a little glitch that never got past Frictional Games' eyes. Besides those two little things, the demo was good for a demo. The village was nicely put together even though the old style of the houses and the cars did not match. The trees and grass were a nice touch as well. The mansion looked really good and I am also glad that you actually build the inside to be compliant with the outside. What I mean is that you did not pull a, "walk into a small shack and then the inside is a huge mansion." Inside the mansion, the design was averagely good. The ambiance is something to be proud of though. It made me feel like power was actually running through the mansion and the knocking sound effect that would play every so often made me cautious on moving fast. When I took a look at the mansion in the HPL editor, I noticed that there was supposed to be an "office typewriter" on the desk, but it was invisible. Even if it isn't for you, always check the .mat files of non-amnesia textures to make sure they have the right image files and are the correct type of material. The light switches also need to be scripted to work, and try not to stretch or compress textures too unevenly (such as putting the x-scale on .5 and the y-scale on 1.5 while leaving the z-scale on 1). Overall, the demo was an interesting concept that, with plenty of development, could turn into a great custom story.

Thank you for your review that was very useful. I tried to download again the game, the first map (the village) works, but when I enter the cellar, the game crashes, so I guess the problem don't come from the game or the files, but from my computer itself. I have also several problems with others maps (like the factory in the village), crashing after a few minuts in the level editor. I don't know what is happening, I have tried everything that I could tried, and nothing changes.
judging by the screens you've done a lot more than what you've showed us in this demo which leads to the fact there is tons of work put into the mod already? i really hope you will not let all of that wasted. keep working on this man, i'd like to see this as a whole thing. i liked the demo, i know there's lot more in there :)
There is tons of work. I can't play the demo (the game crash when I enter the cellar), my game must be totally corrupted so I need to do something about that. If it work again, I will keep working on.
