Developed over the last 9 years, the LOUD Project is a complete reworking of the core code for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Focusing specifically on improving not only the AI, but overall game performance - LOUD can now easily run games with 5000+ units, at normal speed, on 40k and larger maps. The package includes subsets of many of the most popular mods, adapted specifically for use with the LOUD project, and an entire collection of updated maps specifically marked to optimize performance with the LOUD project.

I am interested in trying LOUD but I also want to create my own maps. Is there a map editor availble that will run on Win 10 or 11 and produce maps that work with LOUD? Or does LOUD include a map editor?

Absolutely - there are two map editors - the original editor, that comes with the original Supreme Commander - and a more modern editor widely available (including thru our Discord). We recommend that version. Here is a public link to it.

Hi Sprouto,

In addition to what OP asked, when creating a new map, it doesn't come with AI markers on it, correct? How are AI markers added? We made a map but it doesn't seem like the AI understands how to play it.

Thanks

You are correct - making the map is only half the job - the important part, marking it, is another task unto itself.

Marking requires placing - and connecting - the movement markers for the 4 major movement types - Air, Amphibious, Land and Naval. Each layer must be created independently. Once movement is dealt with, there are markers that tell the AI where likely defense points, and Expansion bases should be considered. The best way to visualize this is to open a LOUD map - and have a look at what's already been done on one of our maps. If you'd like, come onto our Discord, and share your work with us. We'd be happy to help you refine your map, and perhaps, if it's a good fit, we may ask you to let us put it into our map library - and share it with our many users.
