Developed over the last 9 years, the LOUD Project is a complete reworking of the core code for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Focusing specifically on improving not only the AI, but overall game performance - LOUD can now easily run games with 5000+ units, at normal speed, on 40k and larger maps. The package includes subsets of many of the most popular mods, adapted specifically for use with the LOUD project, and an entire collection of updated maps specifically marked to optimize performance with the LOUD project.

Hi,

Been having a strange problem. When playing coop with a friend, if he uses Cybran or UEF, he can't upgrade to T4 - only works will illuminate. Have reinstalled a number of times, both FA and Loud and I have even zipped up my installation folder and sent that to him to overwrite his and the problem persists.

Could this be a registry issue?

The build options for T4 are just not present - the engineers and Support Commanders build but no graphical interface to build is present.

I don't have this problem. We both have FAF installed but have disabled all FAF mods. Prior to disabling the FAF mods, he wasn't able to use T4 illuminate either.

Using Loud mods -

  • Brewlan
  • Black Ops
  • Black Ops Adv Commanders
  • Loud Unit Additions
  • Sequentially upgrading Extractors v2
  • Supreme Economy
  • Enhanced Black Ops Commanders
  • Enhanced Resources

On a side note - what program is used to edit the maps?

Thanks,

Greetings - it sounds like you need to make a new profile (at the Main Menu) when you play LOUD. This is a common problem, as there are profile differences between the original game, LOUD and FAF that can cause these odd behaviors.

LOUD uses no specific map editor - but the FAF Map Editor is pretty much the most common one in use everywhere these days.

Thanks - will try the new profile fix out.

With regards to the map editor - I have been using the FAF one and it won't allow me to reposition the mass nodes. If I try to bring them closer together, it doesn't take when in the game.

Is there a hard-coded distance between all the mass nodes and number of nodes limited to 4?

I play with the rush timer on and in certain maps the no-rush circle is smaller than the distance you've set the mass nodes to. So only 2 out of the 4 nodes are accessible.

With respect to the resource points - yes - there is a spacing limit applied in-game - to all start positions where players are located. No more than 4 resource points at a range of 35 ogrids from centre - and a 2nd allotment of 4 - at approximately 55 ogrids.

The no-rush distance limit is controlled manually, via the scenario file, which can be adjusted with any text editor.

Thanks - good to know. I'll make some changes to the no-rush distance.

The deleting of the user profile has fixed the issue - thank you.

Excellent - we have some very knowledgeable people with respect to map making and marking. Come join us on our Discord server (the link is right on the front of the launcher) and you can talk directly with them. We're happy to hear from our users, and we're here to help in any way we can.

Hi.

I have the same problem. I'm playing Skirmish with UEF, but can't build Experimental units. I have no mods enabled, I have all units allowed. I created new profile, but still nothing. Any idea? :-)

T3 engineer experimental menu is unavailable "Unit's tech level is insufficient"

Loud version 5.7.6 (up to date)

Thanks for help.

In LOUD - T4 units are only available via the Subcommander (from the Quantum Gateway) or the ACU upgraded to T4 level. This is not a bug - this is designed to allow the game to 'breathe' instead of being a mad rush to the first experimental unit - it also pushes nukes to a point much later in the game. T3 engineers are just T3 engineers, nothing special about them.
