Developed over the last 9 years, the LOUD Project is a complete reworking of the core code for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Focusing specifically on improving not only the AI, but overall game performance - LOUD can now easily run games with 5000+ units, at normal speed, on 40k and larger maps. The package includes subsets of many of the most popular mods, adapted specifically for use with the LOUD project, and an entire collection of updated maps specifically marked to optimize performance with the LOUD project.

Hello Loud Project Forum!

I recently started using the Loud Project Mod to play with my dad. We don't like playing against other players since they are mainly hyper sweats. That being said the options for 10k maps(which is the size my dad and myself like best) is extremely limited. I was wondering if their is a simple way to get more maps? Please explain as simple as possible. My dad is not tech savvy and I am mainly a console player other than this game. Any advice would be great! Thank you! Oh and we don't like FAF. We prefer LOUD for the extra units, and AI improvements(That don't make the AI competition/no life difficulty).

Sincerely,

MR Unstoppable

The entire point of The LOUD Project was to get out of the small map syndrome - and allow the game to breathe on larger maps, most notably 40k. Previously, that simply wasn't possible. The sub-20k format, really is well covered by the original game, and FAF - so, we have always felt that with our very limited resources, any effort in the area of smaller maps, wasn't really of value to the project or a productive use of our time.

That does not mean that LOUD will not work with such maps, and you can actually install any map into your USERMAPS folder of LOUD - and then use it with LOUD. In fact, you can take the maps from your original game, and place them into that folder - and LOUD will see them - and allow you to play on them. Please note - they may not work very well - as they may simply be too small (LOUD requires a certain amount of space around his starting location) or not be very well 'marked' for movement.

One other thing, with LOUD you do not need to worry as much about having 'even' teams - so if you want to set up a game with say, you and your father, against a single LOUD AI, this will work very well. LOUD has been specifically coded to adapt to those conditions and still be a challenging and competent opponent. Many players initially have trouble with larger maps because of the multitasking required (and it's an acquired skill) so - to that end - we've made the AI very scalable - allowing you to damp him down as much as needed using the cheat multiplier, to get the pacing just where you need to be, to be able to manage a larger frontage. It does take some practice, for sure, but I'll be honest, most of the success of the project has come from the ability to enjoy the larger world, as was intended - and still have the kind of performance necessary to do so.

On our Discord, if you're interested, we have many players who offer up some of their own map creations. Sometimes, when they're well done, we add those to our 'map library', which you can find via our launcher. There are some additional 10k map options available thru that - but there are several more, available thru our Discord, that are not quite so 'polished' - and are often just spread around between our users via our Discord.
